I’m not a huge fan of the taste, it’s a bit sour-ish to start out. And the texture can be a bit funky, but is easy to get by. The benefits of slurping one of these down after a long run far outweigh the negatives. It helps my recovery so much. Muscles aren’t nearly as sore the next day and I just feel better than I do when I don’t eat one of these right away. Easy on the stomach, too. Strawberry is the better flavor, in my opinion.

I like the fact that this has the right kind of ingredients. All natural and the right blend of carbs, protein, and fat. I've had the strawberry flavored pouch after 2 different rough races and feel like it does what it is supposed to. The taste is tart, but I like tart. The texture is a little odd, but most recovery drinks are. This has become my go to recovery fuel.

I really enjoyed this recovery protein smoothie. It's very convenient, great for travel or days spent on the trails. I've tried both the strawberry and mango/banana and the taste is great! It still has that hint of protein powder like most shakes, but it wasn't a turn off or that noticeable. I like the fact that it is a good mix of carbs, electrolytes and protein, all the things you need to help recover. And of course, it is plant-based and made with natural ingredients! I highly recommend for any athlete.

I am so glad to have a recovery 'food' available as soon as I am finished with my run. I've used recovery foods before, most of which are drinks that I need to make from a powder form, which doesn't seem like a big deal, but often I finish a run especially if I'm in a remote location, I'll get back to my car and not have water left to mix up the drink, so now I have to remember to keep extra water in the car, which usually isn't a problem but sometimes I do forget. Now I can have a Huma Recovery gel right there ready for me whenever I'm ready for it. I agree with another reviewer that although its not exactly like the taste of the Strawberry Huma Gel it is still very good and easy to go down. I've been using Huma gels for years so was pumped to see they released a recovery food as well, I love their real food blends with all natural ingredients!

I've been a runner for a very long time and tried many products—the new Huma Recovery Smoothie is impressive for both how well it tastes and works. It does taste like a smootie minus the ice and the fact that it's 100% natural and good for your body, is a huge sell for me. For any athlete needing post-workout fuel, these are easy to pack and even easier to down the hatch. Can't wait for more flavors in the future!

I've tried the strawberry flavor twice after 6 & 7 mile runs and I love the flavor! The texture is taking some time to get use to, but I perfer a smoother texture to my foods. This is a great way to refuel after a run or tough workout. The pouch is easy to open and "drink". Loaded with plant protein and all natural ingredients!

These smoothies fill a super important niche for me: getting refueled in that crucial 30min window right after I run but before I have time to make a full meal. I have been using humagel for a while so when they came out with recovery I had to try it. I just got done with an hour and half hard ride and immediately sucked it down. It does not taste like the gels texture wise but it is fantastic. I would definitely recommend this products for endurance athletes that need to recover quickly.
