don't see hardware gizmos for mounting / attaching the cable to buildings or poles. How is this accomplished ?

I usually wrap the messenger around existing aerial hardware if running the cable parallel to previously-installed Phone Co./Cable Co. cable, or if attaching to a wooden pole I purchase Telephone Pole "J" hooks & wrap the messenger tightly, several times around the hook. If attaching to a building, depending on the construction, I purchase threaded eyelets & attach them to the building, then wrap the messenger through the eyelet several times. You can buy the "J" hooks online & threaded eyelets are available at most any hardware store/Lowe's/Menard's/Ace Hardware. "J" Hooks can also be used for pole barn buildings that use posts on the corners.

What is the messenger cable for?

Messenger is steel wire supporting the cable. For example between the poles.

can this wire be buried without using pvc pipe?

Yes it can. Depending on where you put it and how deep you bury the cable below the frost line where you live.

What kind of loops/clamps should be used to attach the messenger to a hook on a pole?

There are various clamps that can be used with this cable. unfortunately we do not carry the clamps. This cable has a pulling tension of 352lbs (160kg) and has a bend radius of 120mm.
