A passive device, but beware all assembly instructions are in Japanese and no English. There are others on the market, one in particular , is passive, only 80 odd quid and is ready to go out of the box. Hope this helps.

Not what I expected at all

All in Chinese, instruction booklet , remote control also , flimsy buttons on actual unit itself. But they were very helpful and gave me £100.00 back off the item as was too risky trying to send it back with current covid virus situation. Thank you for that .
