“This is a great item for any 2001 collector!” 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) charts a history of human evolution. From the dawn of man, to his journeys into space & to when the "Star Child" is born at the end. The film has a underlying theme of dehumanization by technology. The notorious computer HAL9000 has more warmth and personality than the human astronauts it supposedly is serving. The film also leaves the meaning of the Black, rectangular Alien Monoliths open for discussion. This theme, in part, is what made 2001 a film like no other film. Kubrick's film is nothing less than a cinematic milestone, puzzling, provocative, and perfect. This replica Obelisk is made from 3D Printing. Dimensions are 9 inches tall x 4 inches wide x 1 inch thick and weighs 7 ounces. If you don't want black, I can make yours in many different colors, see options listed. black white orange grey silver gold red Review: It's looks good Enough to display with the crew of the discovery - Fast delivery well packaged. Awesome seller Unfortunately the monolith was not as smooth as I would liked too many sand paper swralws. Real not worth the price looks good from Far away . The crew from the discovery really don't mind. Review: Not exactly what I expected for $35 - Dimensions are right and it is black. However, in the movie, the monolith was featureless. Not so in this case. An OK replica; just not worth $35
