Does the mouth open on this?

Yes, the mouth opens and closes. Really. I’ve got one and it’s mouth opens and closes.

Is this toy made in Germany?

The design of products and the creation of tooling is mostly in-house. Production is at the German headquarters and in production facilities in foreign countries, with the figures being hand-painted in China.[6] In 2006, Schleich had about 250 employees and a yearly sales figure of around 80 million Euro.[4]. Schleich toys are made of polyvinyl chloride, PVC. PVC is commonly used in the construction industry for plumbing water lines in homes and businesses. They also add a softener developed by BASF called Hexamoll® DINCH®.[7] This softener is not only used in toys but also for food packaging and for use in the medical field for blood product packaging and breathing tubes. Production modeling can take as little as 2 weeks for a simple dog. A horse will typically take 3 weeks and dinosaurs can take up to 8 full weeks to model.[8]

Super!

A great gift that they won’t “age out of”

My toddler is obsessed with dinosaurs and fell in love with this figurine the moment he saw it. I love it because it’s well made (in terms of material and construction) with a good weight and realistic detail. My favourite thing about it is that it is a “toy” that he won’t age out of for 8-10 years, as it can be used as a realistic model when learning about dinosaurs and doesn’t look childish. Highly recommend it for dinosaur enthusiasts, collectors and children.
