Why won't some of the games play past the tutorial?

The games on the SD card are bootlegs from bad sources. To use the device the best it can be, you'll want to load your own roms onto an SD card formatted with GarlicOS.

Can it save game progress?

Yes it has support for several save states per game

List of games that comes with the console?

The list is too long to name, but there weren’t any Mario games or Kirby games.
