Excellent value for the money.
This sword is perfect for tai chi sword practice, especially in a small space. I was able to go through the whole form without having to adjust where I was positioned. The handle is long enough for switching hands easily and it comes with a tassel which is more than mere adornment in tai chi sword forms. Retracting it was not easy as it kept getting stuck, but a little WD-40 solved this. It comes in a nice case and is very portable. For the price it is an excellent buy.

Ok toy, tai chi sword but issues retracting.
The plastic hold and handle make it feel like a child’s toy. It gloriously opens smoothly. Once extended it is a pleasure to maneuver. However, it does not retract easily. The stainless steel partitions get stuck and at two spots it gets really stuck. It took me a good 5 minutes of wiggling and jiggling the blade parts to successfully get it back into the hilt. That is not how it’s supposed to be. Normally you would just push the tip of the blade downward onto itself and it collapses seamlessly. Unfortunately it continuously got caught every time I attempted to retract the blades. Once the blades catch you need to be careful when maneuvering the stainless steel parts to not injure yourself bc the blade parts are not completely dull. As an extended sword the outer parts of the blade ore indeed dull the the retracting cut portions are not. Wish it was smoother. Gave it an extra star bc it was nice when extended, even tho the hilt should not feel like a plastic toy -but for the price it was ok.

Really nice for 8 year old
My son picked this out and I'm impressed by the quality of the case and handle. The sword itself is not sharp but he likes to pull it out and play with it. He's only swinging against air pretending to be a ninja, I wouldn't recommend actually striking anything with this.

Looks good, gets stuck sometimes collapsing
Looks good, gets stuck sometimes collapsing. You need to play with it a bunch to get it kind of smooth.
