Very pretty. The waves have a texture that you can feel, though it isn't bothersome. You can also see the texture of the ink if you look closely. Depending on your age (I'm a scientist in my late 20s), it is nice enough to have lots of personality while still being professional enough to bring to work. The clear portion about the wave is matte clear and thus a frosty clear, not a "fully see-through" clear. The wave covered just the bottom right tip of the apple symbol on my 13" mid-2013 MPB retina, so I am satisfied with the visibility of the apple symbol. The way the ink ends at the edges is nice - not crisp and not susceptible to being printed "off-place". Mine's wave is placed correctly. It was easy to put on and seems durable - I move my laptop around frequently, and have had a range of different quality cases. From my experience with mid-2013 13" MPB retina cases, I am guessing this case will not crack before I replace it for fun sometime next year.
