Mardles discovAR 4D colouring book - Space Adventures - Augmented Reality Toy

My son loves this. The picture comes to life and it looks like the earth is in the room with us, with things orbiting it and shooting stars. There’s also a choice of little aliens that you can control and make fly around the 4D picture. Every so often an interesting fact pops up and you can listen to it in English, French, German and Spanish. My son enjoyed switching between these.The app worked instantly without issues. You just have to make sure you download the right app because there’s one for the sticker sets and one for the colouring books. I downloaded the wrong one at first, but the app redirected me to the right one.You can also print a free sample from the sea colouring book and that one is really effective too, making it look like lots of fish are swimming around your room.The only downside is that a couple of the pictures are repeated, but that does mean you can colour them differently each time.For the money, it’s well worth it for such a fun activity.

I ordered this colouring book for my 5 year old grandson for Christmas and tried it out (as you do!) without colouring in of course and at first I couldn’t get the app to work until I realised it takes a while to load- it doesn’t seem to be doing anything when you press Scan, but eventually counts down from 3 and becomes a 3D animation. Beware of trying it out too much as the individual sheets come out easily and your little one will guess you’ve been playing with it! I be ordered some Mardles stickers too - I think the kids will really enjoy this novelty.
