Raspberry Pi 5 Robot Track Tank Car Kit with Robotic Arm Artificial Intelligence Learning Electronic Programming for Teens Adults (Transbot-SE Without Pi)

I’m really impressed with the Transbot-SE. It’s a solid, well-thought-out robot kit that’s clearly designed for learning and experimenting with AI vision and ROS. The build quality stands out right away. The aluminum alloy tank chassis feels sturdy and smooth, and the off-road tracks combined with the encoder motors give it plenty of power and control. Following the assembly video was straightforward, and the finished robot feels like a serious desktop-level platform, not a toy. What really makes this kit shine is the AI and ROS learning potential. It supports OpenCV, face and object tracking, QR/AR recognition, gesture control, and MediaPipe, which opens the door to a lot of creative projects. The robotic arm and 2-DOF camera gimbal add even more flexibility for vision-based tasks and motion planning experiments. It’s great for beginners getting into ROS, but also has enough depth for more advanced users who want to go further with Python or C++ development. Control options are another big plus. You can use the mobile app, a gamepad, or program and control it through a Jupyter web interface. Everything works smoothly, and having multiple control methods makes testing and development much easier. The documentation is detailed and helpful, and Yahboom’s support has been responsive when questions come up. Overall, the Transbot-SE is a cost-effective, feature-packed robot kit that’s perfect for learning ROS, AI vision, and robotics in a hands-on way. Highly recommended if you’re serious about robotics projects with Raspberry Pi or Jetson Nano.

I purchased the Yahboom Raspberry Pi 5 Robot Track Tank Car Kit (Transbot-SE with Pi 5 4G) as a hands-on way to explore robotics, AI, and Python programming—and I’ve been genuinely impressed by the quality, support, and educational value this kit offers. 🛠️ Great, easy to follow build instructions ================================= The included step-by-step installation videos are well-organized and easy to follow. I took my time with the build—about two hours a day over three days—and everything fit together nicely. Others may finish faster, but I found the process enjoyable and educational, especially as I familiarized myself with each component. 💾 Upgraded to a 256GB SD Card I chose to upgrade the included SD card to 256GB. This gives me extra headroom for: * Installing additional AI libraries and development tools * Storing video/image data for computer vision experiments * Future-proofing the system for larger projects It’s a small change that adds a lot of flexibility—especially as I plan to use this robot as a platform for ongoing experiments and upgrades. 🤖 Great for Beginners and Tinkerers ============================= While the price may seem a bit high at first glance, I consider it an investment in learning. It’s perfect for teens and adults who want to dive into artificial intelligence, robotic motion control, and Raspberry Pi development. Once the initial tutorials are completed, this becomes a great base for more advanced custom projects—such as building a home monitoring rover or experimenting with autonomous navigation. 📷 Camera Setup & Customer Support ============================== I had a few questions about camera calibration after assembly. Yahboom’s customer support team responded promptly and was extremely helpful. It's clear they stand behind their products, and that gives me peace of mind moving forward. 🔩 Excellent Build Quality ===================== All components feel solid and well-made. The tracks run smoothly, the robotic arm is functional and responsive, and everything worked as expected once the build and software setup were complete. This isn’t just a toy—it’s a full-featured learning platform. My thoughts: =========== Overall, the Transbot-SE with Raspberry Pi 5 is an outstanding kit for anyone interested in robotics and AI. It’s well-built, backed by excellent documentation, and supported by a responsive and helpful customer service team. Between the quality hardware, detailed instructions, and reliable after-sales support, I feel confident recommending this to anyone ready to dive into hands-on tech projects. Easily a 5-star product.

So I didn’t realize that this had to be pieced together. I knew there would be some parts to it but I didn’t know it was literally everything. It’s pretty awesome!!! I ordered for my daughter who is starting a robotics class. I think this would be great for an advanced robotics enthusiast. It is very tricky for my daughter so it has been a slow process. I think it’s great they have to build and program it though. It is using the same platform her class is using. I am definitely looking forward to seeing the process complete. The directions are thankfully step by step. I think it’s a very high quality build and worth the investment.

This is my second Yaboom product of this type, the first being a 6DOF robotic arm with a camera mounted to it for AI work. Like the arm, this little bot was easy to put together. The instructions were clear, and there were no missing parts. When it comes to software and tutorials, Yaboom comes through again. Since I already have the arm and a little car from another manufacturer, this kit combined the two into a single package. I even learned a few new tricks, to help with building my own custom robots later on.
