Mathematical Reasoning Level A - Bridging the Gap Between Computation and Math Reasoning (Grade K)

We pair Mathematical Reasoning with Math Mammoth for our core math curriculum in our homeschool. This Level A workbook is for kindergarten and one of the best curriculum for math in our opinion. It is from The Critical Thinking Company which is a widely known and loved in the homeschool community.The pages are bright and colorful and with not so much on the page that it overwhelms the child. It's thorough with math concepts and all the instruction is right on the page. So for older students that can read well will have no problem for the most part in doing this curriculum independently.My youngest has completed Mathematical Reasoning Beginning 1 and 2 and Level A for kindergarten and I think they have prepared her very well for starting Math Mammoth Level 1 for first grade this year. Both of my girls use Mathematical Reasoning and Math Mammoth as said above and they work wonderfully together.While they are learning bite sized pieces of information of the concepts in Mathematical Reasoning because it takes a spiral approach, they get a good idea of a concept before getting to that chapter in Math Mammoth which is a mastery curriculum.

This is for my 5 year old kindergartener. This exercise can be a stand alone math book to learn basic concept, such as counting, comparison, simple addition subtraction, geometry, and measurement. This can also be a supplement for school. It is very colorful, which is important for my 5 year old daughter. There is also enough "challenge" to learn new skills and be interesting. When we first got the book my daughter would not stop. I think this book is a great math introduction to anyone that is ready to read and write.

I received this book the first time in a packaged Kindergarten curriculum set, and we loved it. My oldest child was always excited to do math, and loved the variety the book provided, as well as, eye catching colors and activities on each page. So when my second child was ready for Kindergarten, I didn't look elsewhere for a Math resource, I knew that this would continue to work well for us. We will stick with this series!Rather than approaching new subjects one at a time in separate chapters, the child can work on one skill for a page or two, then move on to something new, and a few pages later they go back and review a past skill. It keeps it exciting and fresh for the kids. And, we finish these books well within the parameters of a regular school year...not because there aren't enough pages, but because my kids want to sit down and do 10 or more pages at a time.I would highly recommend!

I absolutely can't say enough good things about this book. My daughter is a reluctant learner and even though she's intelligent, she has a hard time working on content she thinks she might not be able to do. I wasn't sure how a spiral approach would work but it was absolutely perfect for her. She would do a hard page, feel slightly frustrated, and the next page would be something she understood better and found less overwhelming. We have been able to cover a lot more material this way with a much happier kid.I also love the way it gradually introduces hard concepts through illustrations (like skip counting, fractions, symmetry, etc.). She's able to receive an introduction to a topic, review another topic she's comfortable with and practice a topic she's less comfortable with all in one day with no preparation on my part (literally, you open the book and that's it).If there's a topic that really is too easy for her (e.g. shapes) then we just skip a page. It definitely has enough practice and I prefer workbooks that ere on the side of too much repetition than not enough.We've used this as our complete curriculum this year and will continue with the series we love it so much. Worth every penny!

I like this book, I am buying again for 2nd child to use. Engaging a fun. A little repetitive, but sometimes that is necessary, and when it isn't, can continue past.Beware when buying from Thinktonight as seller - I paid a higher price for a new book than other sites for the convenience....and received a used book. So check your book ASAP to reduce wasted time.

I love this curriculum! I have it for my kindergarten and another one of their books for my 4th grader. It moves your kido through appropriately. It teaches new content and loops around again and again to review it and building in new content. Fun colorful pages are engaging.

I really like this book. I haven't had the experience as some have had where my child begs me to keep on going. He's usually ready to be done after 2 pages (maybe because he's distracted by siblings). But the concepts are taught in a way that are very easy for him to understand. The review is great to help him retain what he's learning. It seems to be at the right age level. I'm glad I bought this instead of paying a lot of money for a Kindergarten curriculum.

My 5 year old is on pg 211 of 250. She has enjoyed this book. All 250 pages are in color. It covers most of the concepts in the kindergarten math curriculum she is expected to master. It touches on a concept at a basic level first, moves on to others, then cycles back to the same concept with increased difficulty. It is on the expensive side, but it offers so many worksheets...It takes about a year to complete. I have found it very helpful this year.
