VFD Digital Phase Convertor 7.5kW 10HP 220V Single to 3 Phase

First I bought the 4.0kW to supply an old Bridgeport. It has performed flawlessly right from the start, at this time 15 months later. Five stars for that one. After that initial positive experience, I bought the 7.5kW to supply an even older lathe. My mistake was ordering it months in advance of when I knew I'd have the time to install it, so now Amazon support has long expired. This second one does not power up, at all. Error codes? It does not even turn on, no lights, no output, nothing. Is it possible I installed it incorrectly? Maybe, but I installed the first one perfectly, and the second one the same way. Tested on different circuit, still nothing. Zero stars for this one, so we're averaging 2.5 stars now. The company claims great support for a year after the sale, and I've read of some positive experiences. It's been a couple days now with no response whatsoever, so now I'm dropping it to an even Two stars, and ordering a new alternative from a competitor. Since the installation is all ready to go now, I'll know if the next one functions immediately upon delivery, solidly inside Amazon's support window. UPDATE: It took several days to get a service response, but after only a couple exchanges, they volunteered to replace the faulty unit. The replacement works perfectly.

I have 4 of these VFDs of various sizes running different pieces of equipment around my shop, and I'm extremely happy with how they have performed. No issues to date, the oldest is probably 4 or 5 years and I might have to replace the fan. Also I'm very happy the newest ones only run the fans when the equipment is running and automatically turn off after a minute of stopping the machine. The manual can be difficult to understand but there are numerous YouTube videos to help you get them setup. If you are in need of running a 3 phase motor on single phase these are a no brainer, and make operation a lot more pleasant with soft start of motors, variable speed control (while maintaining torque). I would keep these in the machines at this point even if I had 3 phase power.

I bought this to convert single phase to three phase to run a lathe. Hooked up per the instructions. Set the motor parameters and changed all of the frequency settings to 60hz. Everything worked perfectly for a beautiful 5 minutes, then click, it shutoff, no display and reading 115v single phase on all output legs all the time. Something internal gave up.

The 7.5kw GT VFD so far has exceeded my expectations on it's functionality. This unit has way more setting than ill every need/use but its good to know they are available for futer project's and ideas. The bad, the first 2 units they shipped me were marked as the 7.5kw GT VFD on the outside of the mox but both were the 2.2kw HY VFD. Im sure its a great product as well but not useful to me for my application and they are about 1/3 the cost compaired to what i intend to get. But all is well now!

Got 10hp. On single phase 220 input its giving around 5.5 kw. To have 10 hp you need 3 phase input. But for my 5.5 kw motor its works good. I use single phase input and recive 3 phase output. This have a lot of parameters inside for different motors. Make sure you program your. Because it may not give you proper performance. Lets say you can program this for spindle motor that can give 30k rpm.

Excellent VFD. I’ve been using it for a while now and it works great. It works with my 3hp engine and with my 10 hp engine.

There are a lot of unknowns with these fancy units None of it matters if you’re simply using it for a shop item in your garage or barn Transform almost any three phase unit into regular household power Speed controller, and a simple on off hand wired switch. What a great product.

1. Very bad quality of soldering, self modules are ok, but final assembly is terrible. 2. I set two stars only because it is works with basic operations like 3 wire connection. 3. I lost 4 work days to program it for complex task with stopping motor by overcurrent fault. Internal amp meter lies more than 10%, the firmware got glitch and set random frequency range, I did everything even power off it many times (finally when was 5th day of my suffering I found out I made power off not long enough) when I kept 10 min power pause the glitch magically has gone, and it happened several times, I can not trust such device and setup it for customers and provide a warranty for my work, they will sue me.

I used this to power an old 10Hp metal turning lathe. We don't have 3 phase power in our garage and I didn't want to get a phase converter. This VFD was easy to set up, cheaper to buy than a phase converter, and made the machine safer to operate. I am only running the lathe at 60Hz for now, but tested the variable speed and it works great. Nice and smooth. I may be back for another VFD once I get my hands on a milling machine.

Strong inverter. Used 10 HP for our 5 HP motor (mill) - best fit. Excellent customer care. Spoke each day (would take a day to respond as we are in Canada) but received detailed messages and videos so we could fine tune our needs.

Worked well when installed on a 7.5 Hp motor 3 phase motor. Ran on 230 volt single going in to supply 3 phase out at 60 Hz, no variable speed used. Unfortunately it only lasted 1 year with the panel dead, no output. Motor only pulled 15 amps under load and bought this oversized due to running on single phase. Will be replacing with something different.

It's a good unit but it will take you a while to figure out what the wiring and programming instructions are telling you. Search for youtube videos for easier directions. It would be nicer if this 10hp unit would have larger terminals for the power and motor leads. I had to snip some strands to make them fit.
