It worked for the recipe I was using, but at the cost, I won't be making the recipe very often. It's ironic, but I used a "vegan" product to make a "carnivore" recipe.

As both a chemist and a culinary student, I would like to provide my perspective on this product.Shipping: The item was delivered promptly and earlier than expected, which is fantastic. The packaging was good and the item arrived undamaged.Quality: The quality of the sodium alginate and the calcium chloride is excellent for molecular gastronomy use. Other buyers have left reviews saying that the "stuff was so old [they] couldn't dissolve it". Perhaps it was that they received bad product, this is possible. It is key to note that these compounds can be very difficult to dissolve, and the proper way to dissolve them is with an immersion blender. If you try to dissolve them with a whisk or a fork, you will most likely not be successful: the compounds will clump, not dissolving, and you will probably end up very disappointed :(Ease of use: I found this product very easy to use, since I have a chemistry background I knew how to use it. I do, however, have to take off one star because the item came with no instructions whatsoever. It came with a little postcard that had a link and said to go to the link to find tips and other products to buy. The link did not include any instructions either. For the average user, or just for someone who doesn't have a chemistry background, they may not have any idea what to do with the product! This is a big mistake by the company and I'm rather disappointed in this. Here are instructions on how to use the product:1. Weigh out the tasting base (juice that you want to spherify). Then measure out 1% of that weight, that is the amount of sodium alginate you need to add. Example: let's say your tasting base weighs 300 grams. This means that you need to add 3 grams of sodium alginate, which will make a 1% solution. Dissolve the sodium alginate with an immersion blender until completely dissolved.2. In a small bowl or tupperware container, add two cups of water. Weigh it as well. Then measure out 1% of that weight, that is the amount of calcium chloride you need to add to the water to create a 1% calcium chloride solution.3. Set up the lineup: sodium alginate tasting base solution on the left, calcium chloride solution after that, and a bowl with just water on the right to rinse off the spheres when you're done.4. Using an eyedropper or syringe, take the sodium alginate tasting base and add to the calcium chloride solution drop by drop. Let the drops sit for about one minute. Then use a skimmer to remove the spheres and put them in the water bowl.5. Serve immediately. If they are not served immediately, they will continue to solidify.All in all, I do recommend this product as it works very well. One star taken off because of lack of directions included, which is a big problem for those without a chemistry or molecular gastronomy background.

Perfect results. Bought to make diy bobba bubbles. And worked well. Also really small amount is enough to produce big amount of bobba bubbles.

Drip S.A. mixed with juice into C.C. And you get firm fruit caviar. Go the other way with juice in C.C. and slowly inflate with syringe under S.A. you Will get Boba beads.

I bought this set to make some margarita "bubbles" for a Bachelorette party and things didn't go exactly as planned...but considering how late in the night it was when I tried to assemble them for the first time kind of explains everything. They turned out looking and tasting a bit like funny flavored slimy frog eggs that were half the size of a golf ball. So all things considered the products are great and I can see how they work together if they are used PROPERLY but I just really need to improve my recipes and technique before attempting this project again...that, and perhaps not try something difficult like this in hour 7 of what turned out to be one long drinking game.
