Slide over fabric smoothly
I am surprised at how effective this iron plate cover is. Not only does it keep the plate clean but it enables the iron to slide smoothly over fabric as it irons. If you do appliqué, for example, it is very good at preventing glue sticking to the plate. It seems to not prevent the iron from getting hot as quickly as it does without the cover in place.

Does the job!
Easy to fit to my steam iron. I used it for my Harris Tweed material and it pressed it wonderfully. Also good on delicate facrics. I use it the whole time I am ironing in fact. Please remember to take it off every so often to clean behind it though, as it can get a bit mucky!
