Would this prevent rust on an axe

Should but nothing last forever, may have to reapply periodically. Grease can also attrack dirt, dust so before reapply should remove old grease first. Hopefully this helps you.

does anyone know if this is safe on rubber ?. like o-rings to lube before assembly so not to pinch or bind the o-ring

I would not use oo rubber gasgets. I would use a silicon product or brake fluid on rubber o rings.

I am trying to repack the ball bearings on the snow blower. Would it work for that purpose? Thank you

Yes. Thank you for your interest. FamilyGoKarts 800-950-2210

can i use this to lubricate brakes on my car?

What part of the brakes do you want to lubricate????I can not think of anything that I would use grease on the brake system. This is a heavy wheel bearing type grease.
