I looked for a long time to find a shoe rack that was metal, had mesh shelves, and was able to tilt/slant the racks. This shelf hit all the must haves plus more! I needed a shelf that would fit on a shelf in my closet so I could display shoes. I wanted a rack that wouldn't hold dust and dirt, so I was looking for durable mesh metal shelves. I also wanted slanted shelves so I could see what was on them. This rack has the capability to have slanted shelves or be installed straight/flat, or a combination of both. When put together with the slant feature there is still plenty of room for heels and wedges. There is actually enough room that if you wanted to stack flip flops or flats you could do that too! On the actual shelves I have more than 12 pairs of shoes (they say 9-12), but it would depend on the shoes and if you want them single layer or stacked. Plus I have some under it too! You can see that in my photo. A couple of things that I really love about this rack is the telescoping feet and the room under the bottom shelf that I wasn't expecting. The shelf I put the rack on wasn't perfectly level so those telescoping feet were literally amazing! I was able to adjust them so I have no wobbling or shifting. The bottom shelf also is positioned high enough that you can also put shoes (flats and flip flops) underneath it, so that was something that was totally great for my extra shoes. I do not have any big bulky shoes on this rack so as for durability my shoes are pretty light, so the mesh shelves support the weight without any bending. I put this together by myself and it took 10 minutes or less. If I would have had an extra pair of hands to hold things it would have gone even faster. It went together with no issues. Tools needed for assembly come with and there were no missing parts. All parts came in plastic wrapping so none of the metal was scratched. I was more than pleased with my purchase! It is working out great and far exceeded my expectations.

I recently bought and assembled six of the 5 tier and six of the 2 tier shoe racks and I love them! I had estimates done for built in shoe shelves from contractors and the quotes were ridiculous expensive so I set out to fix the problem myself. I checked other brands on other sites as well as on Amazon and decided on the SONGMICS brand. The racks are easy to assemble I built mine on my kitchen island so I wouldn't have to bend over on the ground this greatly speed up the building process. The racks to me look great! The are sturdy enough if used as intended and not over loaded. I have each tier stacked with mens size 11 shoes and they support the weight no problem. I stacked the 2 tier on top of the 5 tier as well with no fear of it falling over or being flimsy. Three of the racks I built are being used for T-shirt and shorts storage which maybe a solution as well for others that need creative storage ideas. Somehow I managed to accidentally toss out four of the H connectors accidentally with all the packaging I placed in the recycle trash can so I contacted SONGMICS directly and Cathy replied quickly to my email and sent me six H connectors the next day. GREAT PRODUCT, GREAT VALUE and GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Save your money from a pro installing shoe or storage racks and go buy more shoes lol!

At around $34 this was more flimsy than I was expecting. The sides are hollow painted metal and the racks are very thin. This was one of the deepest ones I could find and it does actually hold my husband's size 14 shoes - can get 3 across each rack. My toddler assembled with the shelves slanted and I tightened up the bolts - very easy to put together.I have a great shoe rack I bought at least 10 years ago and it is much better - wooden sides, super sturdy metal grate shelves - I really feel like I got my money's worth. Unfortunately it wasn't big enough for husband's shoes and I couldn't locate it again. Overall this looks nice and does the job but I doubt it will last long.~~Edit~~ The company is very responsive and contacted me regarding my comments. There was an implication that the stand may have been assembled incorrectly which would be logical from the description of "my toddler" building it. However, we read the manual before we started and rechecked our work when we finished (even building a shoe rack can be a lesson). It is possible the unit I got wasn't built to the same standards as others. I'm raising my review from 3 to 4 stars based on the company's dedication to making it right. Some improvements to give a better quality feel to the item: using a thicker mesh on shelves, welding the center support rod across the whole shelf (ours was only partially attached), and/or using a thicker metal on the support legs. The leveling feet are useful and should definitely be kept. Overall I still think this is an adequate shoe rack that looks nice.
