Webb WEH12R Manual Hand Push Cylinder Lawnmower with Roller, Adjustable Cutting Heights, 30cm Cutting Width and 18L Collection Bag - 3 Year Guarantee

This mower is great. It's all chain driven from a series of rollers and no wheels, which means you get good stripes even on a single pass, without wheel tracks. Instructions are clear and help with the setup of the mower. As long as you follow the instructions it will work fine (as with many things in life). Some have moaned the front roller squashes the grass down and doesn't cut it, yes it will do that if you don't mow your grass frequently but properly maintained lawns will spring back up before the blade and be cut just fine. If you don't have the time or see as cutting the lawn more as a chore then this probably isn't for you. The collection bag works fine catching everything that pops up. Tho, as with a lot of front bagged cylinder mowers, it can be hard to see where to line up your next stripe. I can zip round my lawns without any issues even on my bumpy back lawn, tho on the highest setting. The resulting cut is fantastic and really makes a difference on how the lawn looks and grows afterwards. It's also fantastic for the late night mowing when the kids are in bed and you don't want to wake them. Only gripe I have is it could be heavier, in this case the lawn mower being heavier will help produce more defined stripes, but I'll have to settle for doing multiple passes. In conclusion; If mowing is a chore, this is not for you. If your willing to put some time and effort in this will help you produce fantastic results.

A superb hand roller mower. Easy to assemble and gives your lawn a lovely clean cut with stripes making it look very professional.

Delivery was surprisingly quick. I was initially notified that it would be delivered Friday but received it Tuesday morning after placing my order on the Saturday. The mower itself was easy enough to assemble and adjust. One of the wing nuts the insert came loose but was replace by customer services the next day. I did my initial cut on the lowest setting, mainly to cut as much thatch out as possible and although the grass was probably 2 cm above its highest setting it was relatively easy. Subsequent cuts have been much easier albeit at a higher cut. It does cut the grass cleanly and does leave a nice stripe. I do only have a small garden so the 30cm cut width is ideal for me. Here are my gripes and I'll let you decide if they are a problem. The plastic WEBB name badge has peeled off after a couple of days. You have to keep pushing for the blades to rotate, there is no free rotating inertia. If you need to pull the mower back and forth the rear roller drags, i.e. it does not have a free rolling gear mechanism when pulling backwards (front roller is independent so rotates freely both ways). The grass box or net can get snagged on certain plants to the edge of the lawn. So far no rips but I guess time will tell on that one. So in summary for my needs I am happy with the mower and the excellent cut. I do now regret ditching my old hand push mower a couple of decades ago that was a Rolls Royce of a mower in comparison but for the money I am not complaining.

A complete waste of money. Almost impossible to assemble with poor quality materials The handle came away from the body when I pushed it on the lawn. Wouldn't recommend under any circumstances.

5 out off 5 for this little mower. Read the reviews and thought I’ll take a chance on this. I have to say that this mower does what its says on the box. Well pleased with the result. Cuts the lawn really well, collects the grass and leaves nice stripes. Just got to get used mowing with it, as I’ve always just ran my petrol one. Once I get used to it then the Stripes will look better , and we will have a great lawn.

I was looking for a replacement for my old mower and was considering spending a few thousand on a new allet or cobra cylinder mower, and I'm so glad I bought this instead as I could buy nearly 20 of these for the price of an Allet! The only downside is the stripe width is tiny (30cm) but if you double stripe (like in the photo) it does an amazing job. Also it's a bit of a faff to change cut height but now I've got it set at 20mm I'll leave it there. Don't get me wrong if you've got a thick overgrown lawn, this isn't going to do a good job and I'll probably use my old mower for the first cut each year, but for just keeping it trimmed this is perfect!

PLUS POINTS: * The Webb WEH 12R carries out its basic function really well. Its five-bladed cylinder cuts grass very cleanly, and the rear roller leaves nice stripes. * Grass clippings are efficiently delivered into the collector box - no side spill. * It’s as easy as my old Hayter Envoy electric to push - and there’s no damn cable to keep tripping you up! * There’s no engine noise - instead just a strangely pleasing mechanical whirring sound as you work your way up and down the lawn. Very neighbour-friendly, too! * Nice retro looks. The dark green colour and red cylinder blades remind me of my Dad’s old petrol-driven Atco, which is how I earned my pocket money in the 1960s - happy days! So. a lot of mower for the money, but frankly I’d rather pay 50% extra and have all the quality issues listed below sorted out by Webb. MINUS POINTS: * I’ve had to resort to glueing together (!) the two upper sections of the push handle with Araldite, as the butterfly bolts on their own aren’t man enough for the job and the handle keeps working loose. * The push handle won’t stay upright when you empty the grass collector box - it just flops down, tipping up the mower, which is most annoying. * Re-fitting the grass box onto the mower is more of a fiddle than it has any right to be. * The fabric grass box is not particularly robust, but I do wonder if the people complaining that ‘it falls apart’ have actually assembled it correctly - the plastic edges must be properly snapped over the wire frame all round, which takes some determination. * One of the two screws securing the side panel covering the chain drive fell off on day 3, so I’ve had to Threadlock both of them to avoid a repeat performance. * Symbolically. both ‘Webb’ stickers started peeling off, and I’ve had to superglue them back on. Oh dear. Sorry my review is longer than the Partygate Report, but I hope people find this useful.

See picture and enough said. Lawn was cut at around 15mm using the Webb. Been one of my best buys to be frank. Seems well built and blades are very sharp and the roller works well to really bring out those stripes. Love the fact that it costs £0 on energy or petrol and I pretty much mow the lawn 3 times a week and enjoy clean cut look each time I get out of it. For the lawn enthusiast not ready to fork out say 3 grand for an Allett Stirling, a 100 quid alternative in the Webb is a no brainer. For the ignorant reviews claiming this doesn't cut well, this is a CYLINDER mower! Cylinder mowers are designed to cut lawn that is already short and you are using the cylinder to give it that fine and sharp finish. If you want to tackle shin/knee height jungle of a lawn and cut back then get yourself a rotary mower (right tool for the right job).

Bin zufrieden!
