Does the puppet squeak?

No it doesn't squeaka, it is a good quality puppet.

can the puppet's arms move?

The arms are moveable but can't be controlled as part of the puppet. There is velcro on the hands of the puppet, so when the puppet is in use, the arms normally sit around the neck of the puppeteer. (like a child being carried). The puppeteer's hand goes up the inside back of the puppet into it's head (which can be moved).

Is the banana a permanent feature or can it be removed?

The banana can be removed. There is a bit of Velcro on the chimp's right hand which will stick to the banana. It does not stick really firmly though.

How can i wash this puppet can i put it on a wool wash in the washing machine

I washed this puppet 20 degree wool wash 20 mins in a washing machine in a pillow case, it came out of the case while washing and it is fine albeit a bit dizzy!
