Does this come with the flexible inner drive shaft? the flexible drive shaft broke/twisted on my old robi 875r 4-cycle gas trimmer.

I doubt it as this is for a 40V Electric trimmer. The last one of these that I got fell apart after only one season of light use. Very disappointed and it wasn't cheap. I changed to a black+decker LST140C 40V auto-feed trimmer that has worked great so far. And I am hoping it will hold up better since you don't have to bump it to advance the string.
