Bought these after I had an incident with a dead battery and had to go and disturb a neighbour to ask if I could borrow his jump leads. I didn’t really want to have to ask again so I bought myself these in preparation for the future. They’re long and the cables feel tough and sturdy. The actual grips themselves are very strong and, once gripped on, they’re not coming off in a hurry! They also feel safer because the entire grip is covered with plastic. Nice touch. I have actually used this as I had a repeat of my dead battery incident. Connected them up to another car and turned the key. The car started straight away so they certainly do the job. They also come in a nice, convenient bag to keep them tidy in the boot. Great jump leads that do the job brilliantly and seem to be made to a high standard.

I was sceptical at first to buy these leads as they seemed cheap and not 100% copper, however gladly I was wrong. These jump leads are fantastic. Really well made, good strong grippers and well secured, thick wiring. They instantly fired up my VW 1.8 auto diesel from a 1.6 petrol without any revving. My other leads were better on paper but didn't deliver and they were 5 star rated. The bag is good too, but not the one in the description, another reviewer has posted a pic of it. The grippers are large though and may not suit cars with little access. They are all in one mould so no rubber bits to fall off like on some designs. Not too hard to squeeze them together but some ppl may need to use two hands as they are big, I managed ok and I'm only 5'2 and small hands! They are 3 meters in length so cars will need to park fairly close together if like on my car the battery is in the middle and not to one side, yet we easily managed parking side by side. Overall extremely happy and definitely recommend!

Bought them as I wanted higher amps as thought they may be more effective at jump starting a flat battery. These cables described as heavy duty so should do the job. And they are quite heavy, which I take as a good sign. Was doubtful when I took them out of bag that they were 3 metres long, measured them, they are exactly 3 metres from teeth to teeth. Easily stored in the handy case, which has instructions on back. I needed them sooner than I expected, recently had flat battery. Connected the leads, turned on the ignition, car started straight away, so I am happy with these leads.

Thick metal cable - yes; Good insulation - yes; Good teeth Jaws, opening range, insulation - yes; 3m end clamp to end clamp - yes; Continuity of current clamp to clamp - yes; Good spring on clamp - yes Have not tested these yet on a jump start - however on first inspection the clamps are big and insulated in plastic, and are the teeth jaw type, so unlikely to come off the battery terminals - the cables are thick, and on looking down inside the handles the metal of the cable is quite thick too - (unlike other product reports from other heavy duty cables, where the thick insulation hides a thin cable) - insulation is good - Spring on clamp could be used for gym clenching fist training= its hard to hold it open! - Very pleased, having looked at other possibilities that didn't measure up at all. Photos attached - note camera perspective makes end of metal cable look smaller than it is (fore-shortening effect) - however it shows where to look.

Came back from holiday to find my 3.0L diesel car's battery was flat.tried my old leads, turning the engine did nothing, the old leads were getting hot.I was getting 14v across the donor battery but only 11V across the other side. These leads look solid and the clamps gripped well, the cable is long enough and quite flexible. Once it almost started first time, a little pressure on the accelerator of the "donor car" and my 3.0L diesel started instantly. The leads didn't even get warm, my old ones had almost melted where crimped to the clamps. I have no doubt they can start a flat battery on a 4L car as well Well priced and highly reccomended

Great set of leads good for the DIY fan

I write this review based on my decades of experiences as a consumer including motoring accessories such as this set of leads. The leads were delivered quickly in very oversized wasteful packaging. The leads are in their own see through plastic packaging, much too flimsy to be called a case. The cable leads are very chunky thick. The clips, similar to giant clothes pegs coloured red, for positive and black for neutral. The packaging states they are suitable for up to 4L vehicles. The clips are big and might be awkward to clamp to smaller size battery terminals. Overall, the clamps appear to be very robust and capable of doing the required job. They will, most probably last a long time if looked after properly.

Mein vorhandenes Starthilfekabel, das ich von meinem Vater übernommen habe, ist mir originalverpackt zerbrochen. Es war sicherlich einige Jahre alt, wurde jedoch nie benutzt. Zerbrochen ist das Gelenk einer Klemme, die lediglich in Kunststoff ausgeführt war. Auch der aktuelle Testsieger ist so ausgeführt. So etwas sollte man nach dieser Erfahrung nicht kaufen, denn die gesamte Belastung liegt beim öffnen der Klemmen im Gelenk. Das machen die in Kunststoff ausgeführten Klemmen nicht lange mit oder gehen gleich in der Verpackung kaputt, wie bei mir. Ich sage dazu: Auf Verschleiss gebaut. Da sehr viele Hersteller diese Kunststoffausführung anbieten, habe ich etwas stabileres gesucht und diesen englischen Anbieter (Made in China) gefunden, dessen Klemmen einen wirklich guten und auch auf Dauer stabilen Eindruck machen. Sie sind vollständig in Metall ausgeführt und haben eine vierteilige Kunststoffabdeckung, um Kurzschlüsse zu verhindern. Selbstverständlich sind die Gelenke auch in Metall ausgeführt. Ein ganz kleiner Wermutstropfen bei mir war eine wohl unzureichende Endkontrolle, eine Teil der Kunststoffabdeckung auf einer Zange war mit einem der beiden Kunststoffnöppel nicht im Metallkörper eingerastet und liess sich auch von mir nicht eindrücken. Ich habe dann den Nöppel mit einem Haartrockner erwärmt, 1 - 2 Minuten reichen, und dann mit einem leichten Hammerschlag auf stabiler Unterlage rastete das Ding ein. Ich hätte es auch zurückschicken können, das hier ging jedenfalls schneller. In England direkt bestellen lohnt sich zur Zeit nicht. Also ganz klar mein Kauftipp
