GRG121DX-BKF GIO Electric Guitar – Black Flat

When the guitar arrived it had clearly been set up to a very high standard. It is very easy to play with a low action and no fret buzz at all. Ibanez clearly care about their reputation when they take this amount of care with their budget guitars. The neck is very slim and the fretboard is flat which lends itself to string bending without the choking that can occur on guitars with rounded necks. While it has two humbucking pickups and no single coil, position 2 of the selecter switch enables only one of the coils in the bridge pickup. Position 4 enables a single coil in each of the pickups. Posistions 1,3 and 5 work as you would expect with bridge pickup, bridge+neck and neck respectively. So you have the best of both worlds and there is a lot of variation and a huge difference between the humbucking and single coil positions. I think this guitar has a beautiful contemporary look and is unbeatable at this price. I think it would be perfect for beginner or intermediate players.

Love it, bought for 'art' rather than to play, looks great on a stand on my floor with some wall mounted guitar pictures! 🤘

Daughters first electric guitar, not too heavy, nice sound to it & looks the business. She’s only a beginner so didn’t want to spend too much, this was real value for money on the Black Friday deal. Paired it up with a fender 10G amp & it sounds great.

Only thing I don't like is that after I'd thrown all the boxing away I notice the bottom of the guitar is chipped! I was too eager to play it I forgot to do the full check over. BUT the good news is that I can return for free and get a replacement so all good. Honestly So surprised at the quality of this geet, sounds fantastic.

Only down fall was the box was damages , a big gash in the side , luckily Guitar un touched , but the inside was not very well packed

I've had the guitar for 3 months now and have played for about an hour most days during this time. As a complete beginner, the guitar looks and feels amazing when you first take it out of the box. Luckily mine had no cosmetic issues at all which was a relief. However there is clearly some setup required, and this will be challenging for beginners like myself. I was having some issues with fret buzz, and after trying to adjust the bridge and neck, am still getting a bit of buzz on one of the strings. i will need to get the setup done professionally - so an extra cost to consider for other beginners looking at this guitar. (this is probably true for all budget guitars though) Also the guitar does go out of tune quite quickly, some days by quite a bit. But it's not a major issue if you have a tuner. Overall a good guitar for the price and i'm glad i went with this one, but definitely something that will need to be upgraded once you get a bit more serious about playing. I'm already eyeing up my next one!

A Great guitar!

Fabulous guitar I bought it as a present for my nephew and he absolutely loves it. He plays like a dream now.👍

Got it 3 early. This guitar feels and plays great. Thank you!
