So. thank you guys for answers my previous question. i have never slept in a tent or been camping. it's going to rain. our tent 96 x 84. tips?

I realize this answer is too late for the camping trip in question, but for any others wondering the same thing, a 10x10 tarp with a couple of tarp poles or a ridge line is a good idea for an area to sit under. As for the tarp under the tent, it should be slightly SMALLER than the tent floor. Make sure, whatever size tarp you use, that it doesn’t stick out from beneath the edge of the tent or it may catch water that will pool on top of it, beneath the tent floor.

Really sturdy for being so light and small.

You could buy a cheap canvas tarp for the same price and it would be 10x the size, made to last for one trip before something breaks, and would never dry after you're done using it. You could also buy this. Just buy this.

Quality Tarp!

I used this tarp for multiple purposes and it worked well for all of them. I used it as a rain fly for a bivy tent, a wind break, and ground cover over the course of a month of mountain camping. The tarp is still in good condition, minus 1 of the stakes being ever so slightly bent. I would recommend purchasing this tarp 100%
