what is the height from the floor to the top part of the bottom legs? i need it to go under the couch witch is 3"

Even if you adjust it with that knob on the side I don’t believe it would fit under a couch.

More weight than any reasonable person would expect a stand of this size to hold.

The height is adjustable, but otherwise nothing folds/collapses on it.

Can you work while in bed with this table?

Not unless you are sitting on the edge of the bed. Not sure but you might be able to get the top separate. Best then to just search for lap table.
