The part about the progress bar actually helped solved the problem I had been struggling for a while. The explanation on LESS is good too.I gave three stars before. One additional star for the additional contents, and another star for listening to readers' input and improving the book. I like that.---------Pros:It does exactly what it says. It really is step by step. The book guides the web page development starting from scratch and building up to a real web page. (The end result is nice, actually. I like it).Well illustrated, well explained. Very easy to understand. It gets me started to build my own page really quick. Never thought bootstrap is this easy.Cons:It does not cover everything. The book left me wanting more.All in all, It is worth the money. Recommended only if you are completely new to bootstrap.

I have been wanting to learn Bootstrap for a while but never set aside the time to read the documentation online. l'm currently on chapter 21 of the book which deals with progress bars. Since I picked up this book, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting up to speed on how to use Bootstrap and all that you can do to customize your website with this framework. It was well worth the money and the time to get up to speed with this topic. The book offers short chapters and showcases the start of a topic and then what you can do to customize that 'widget'. I did find that the table striping did not work correctly and did a basic search on why it didn't work correctly...even the online demo's didn't produce the effect.I highly recommend this book if you want to get up to speed on Bootstrap. Easy to follow examples that allow you to get up and running fast.

I rarely write reviews in Amazon (or anywhere else). When I do, it is because a product is either truly exceptional, or it is really awful and people should know. This is not just an excellent book, but the author is an extremely skilled educator. The reason why is that many "how to books" like this one are several hundred pages of text with examples that that do not build upon themselves. This author has done a superb job explaining everything very well without a lot of unnecessary text, and he has done so in a way where the examples build upon themselves and are also good references individually. This is the first author I have "followed" on Amazon and I will eagerly await the next books he writes on web development. Thanks Riwanto - excellent, excellent job with this.

Just purchased and am half-way through. If you've been away from web development, and you want responsive design, then Bootstrap is a very "fitting" technology. For less than $8 this allows you to dive-in rather than spend hours at the specs, well worth the buy. Even if you already know JavaScript, jQuery, etc. and are like "WTF is Bootstrap?" this is a cheap and easy start. The author walks you through each step. This book will not make you an expert. But, it will enable you to develop responsive designs quickly.You get a relatively cheap entry into a worthwhile technology.

This is more of a "cookbook" style book. The author does not really explain the philosophy or foundation of what bootstrap is, how it works, or why one would want to use it. He basically jumps right in and starts showing examples of how to do certain things. For example, there is no detailed discussion on the the grid/column philosophy. It is not a bad book, but it does not really start you off on a good foundation to really understand what bootstrap is and why it was written.

I bought this to enhance my learning HTML and web design, this book is easy to follow and explains the concept of Boostrap fairly well. In all my years I have yet to find a programmer that had a knack for teaching the skill as well as performing it. The book has examples to follow, you won’t be an expert, but you will have a good grasp on how to work this.

Needed to use Bootstrap at work so I purchased some books on the subject. I found this book to be the most informative. The explanations are clear, straightforward, and it covers wide enough grounds that I found everything I needed to get started.Generous amount of illustrations and screen captures. That helps me to understand the concept without having to use my computer. The examples are reusable, and I like that for every example there is a download link, so I can pick to download only the ones I need. Very practical and saves me a lot of time.This is the book to read when in a hurry to get into production.

This is an acceptable intro if you like to catch up on a buzzwords while sat in the bathroom or similar. The contents are actually a good summary, but not anything you couldn't find, in more detail, in the official docs and guides.If you've any experience at all with Bootstrap this isn't for you, but if you've got a general web background and want a very quick introduction that would get you up and running in the course of an afternoon, explaining the concepts and implementations at a high level with demo's, then this is perfect.

As a newbie to building a website I found this book excellent. The author is a master of his art. The book was easy to follow and the links to his site helped as well. Das Buch legt in wenigen Seiten klar nachvollziehbar die Grundzüge von Bootstrap da. Damit kann man bereits innerhalb eines Tages und vermutlich sogar ohne jegliche Vorbildung einfache Webseiten bauen, die sich der Browser/Gerätgröße des Betrachters anpassen, inklusive üblicher Navigation für Tablets und Mobiltelefone. Dafür 5 Sterne!Leider bezieht sich das Buch (in meinem Fall die Kindle Version) auf eine bereits überholte Bootstrapversion mit ein paar Inkompabilitäten zur neuen. Hier wäre ein Update der entsprechenden Passagen schön.Vermisst habe ich vor allem Hinweise darüber wie man einen Website Footer mittels Bootrstrap gestalten kann bzw. Bootstrap da Hilfsmittel anbietet oder man am Ende doch wieder auf media queries angewiesen ist, wenn man Bildlerpositionierung fürs Layout nutzen möchte.
