What size is the ice scoop ? It's hard to tell from the pictures but it looks like maybe a 2 or 3 ounce scoop. Does anyone know for sure ?

Hi - Great question! The ice scoop holds 1/2 to 2/3 of a cup of delicious Opal nugget ice. All our best! Vikki@GEA

I want to add an extension tube for cleaning/descaling into a bucket. What diameter tubing do I need?

Hi - Thank you for reaching out to us. We do not have the specifications for the tubing used on our Opal ice maker and do not recommend attempting to modify the product from its original design. If descaling the unit has become a frequent chore due to the hardness of your water, you may want to consider using distilled water. Descaling is not needed quite so often when using distilled water. We wish you all the best! Vikki@GEA

Could this be placed under counter in a cabinet or will overheat ect?

Hi - We appreciate your interest in our Profile Opal ice maker. We do recommend allowing 3" air clearance on all sides and back to allow proper airflow. As long as you have the aforementioned clearances, we do not anticipate with any issues with the unit. We hope you choose this great product for your home. Kind regards - Vikki@GEA

how many pounds per day - site says 34, GE's video says 24....?

Hi - Thank you for reaching out to us. The specifications for this ice maker lists the productivity rating at 1.1-1.3 lbs of ice per hour under optimum conditions of 60°F water temperature and 70°F ambient room temperature. That equals a bit over 24 lbs of ice per day. We will make our Amazon partners aware of this error in their specifications listing. We hope this helpful. Kind regards - Vikki@GEA
