Portable External Hard Drive 80GB- External Storage for Laptop/Desktop/Xbox one/PS4 (80G Black)

Was I worried about the small price tag for such a technological product? Yes! However, the fears were unfounded. This small footprint External HDD is perfect! It was a breeze to get it to work with my computer, it only took plugging the USB cord in. How easy can you make it?I purchased this for my new laptop which I bought from Amazon with a Solid-State Drive. I didn’t want to clutter my SSD with gaming and music files, but I still wanted to have access to them. This was the most perfect compromise.I got the black one, I plug it in and hide it under a “lifted” subwoofer from my computer audio system. It stays out of the way. It doesn’t make as much noise (mechanical whirring from the hard disk spinning) as my slightly older HP All-In-One’s HDD, so that’s another great plus!To this date (roughly a month), there have been no issues. I’m only using about 30GB of the “almost” 80GB it came with. However, if I find that I’ve ran into any problems then I will update this review.Until then, if you only need less than ~80GB of space, BUY IT! I highly recommend you to buy one for yourself.

i like the price and most of the time it works well but frequently quits for no reson

I had it sitting in my office for several months in the box and hadn't used it. I took it out to use it, and when I tried to connect it to my computer, it wouldn't mount. The connector where you plug the cord into the drive was too far inward. When I opened the disk, it wasn't soldered. I ended up just throwing it away because even if I could solder it, there would be no guarantee it wouldn't fail later since it was such poor quality.

I had another little external hard drive that exploded. I had no idea that could happen but I came in and found that white powder was coming out of the seams of that hard drive. Luckily I was able to rescue what was in it.I got this small capacity hard drive just to serve as my Photoshop scratch disk. It works fast and well with no lag at all and stays cool and quiet. (In photoshop, I would certainly notice a lag if the scratch disk wasn't keeping up with my work speed--which is pretty fast or involves Open GL etc).

It's an ok to mediocre value however the drive failed within two years and cannot recover anything. I recommend paying extra just so that this does not happen to you.

Warning! If you want to use this for files over 4GB, have fun! (Not!) This Disk is formatted in ExFat, not NTFS. Very difficult reformatting.

Worked as statedUpdated review: so very frustrated, only used a few times and then it stopped working. As far as I am concerned, this is not a good product.
