do these usually fail after 6-7 years I have it controlling my high and low beams and my lights will turn off for about 30 seconds then come back on

sounds like you maybe running more current than the relay is design for. A head light on a car can use 20 amps or more. Two lamps and you would be over the 30 amp rating.

I bought this b/c I need to run one remote 12v wire from my car stereo to several car amplifiers. Does it matter what terminal I use for each wire?

Your "supply" wire (Fused 12v from the battery directly typically) is going to always go to terminal 30. Your "output' wire will be terminal 87 to all of your amplifier remote on terminals. 85 and 86 are your switch path where one will get positive 12v (stereo output remote on trigger wire I believe) when you want to the relay to connect 30 to 87, and the other will get grounded.
