This item is a real "find." It makes many fish-based meals more "hearty." For example we add it clam sauce for pasta ... you just need to find a "sweet spot" erring on the low side at first, so the flavor doesn't overwhelm. Even commercial clam chowders where you see pieces of clam but not much clam flavor benefit. I won't take a star away on one issue, since it is not the product's fault. We received two jars in a cushioned bag (no box) and when we opened it, one jar was badly broken and the contents spilled. We put in to amazon for a refund or replacement. They said yes, but they they would only issue the discount if we dropped it to a Whole Foods. My wife and I are elderly and don't want a difficult drive to the nearest store, plus the loss of time and gas, just to get a refund for a $10 item that should have been delivered intact in the first place. So kept the unbroken jar, threw out the broken one and "ate" the loss. They could have given us alternative ways to get the credit, but chose to offer ONLY the most difficult one for us.

This lobster base is absolutely amazing! The flavor is rich, authentic, and really enhances any dish I add it to. A little goes a long way, so the jar lasts longer than expected. It’s perfect for soups, sauces, and seafood dishes, giving everything a deep, restaurant-quality taste. Super convenient and easy to use—definitely a staple in my kitchen now. Highly recommend!

Wow!! This stuff is amazing! Such rich flavor! Made my dish so much tastier

I was raised on "seafood" mom being from New England. I have to eat 5-8 times a day or I get sick, after being ill from Covid. I add what I'll say is a one-side only of a fork dipped into this then added to my clam sauce, it was delicious, I did not add salt since I'm aware of how salty these BTB tend to be, I use caution. I add garlic paste, red chili flakes, and a bit of black pepper. I use a can of my favorite sauce and sometimes a tray of baby clams, added to sauce. It is so damn good, it should be a crime, lol ~ ///=^} ~

Like all the BTB products, this definitely produces a strong flavor profile. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the lobster base is VERY, VERY SALTY! Used a roux with milk and heavy cream produced a nice lobster bisque, but use the base sparingly, a little at a time as it is, again, very salty. I will also use unsalted butter in the roux next time.

very good at adding great sea food flavor to a dish

This was awfully wrong. I have been using "Better than Bouillon" for years. This SPECIFIC concoction is my go-to for poached Salmon. It's hard to find it where I live so I found it and ordered it on Amazon. The box came properly sealed and it was pristine...no damage, dirt, tears or scuff marks. Nothing loose inside...a good packing job. When I opened the box, the product (2 glass jars) was tightly packed and very secure in bubble wrap...not much room at all for the product to move around or shake loose or anything. They were stacked...bottom of 1 jar packed to the cap of the second jar. When I cut the packing, I found what can only be classified as malicious; out of the case, each jar is sealed with paper foil so you can see the top has not been opened. The tops on BOTH jars were opened...the one on the bottom had torn seals which showed the cap was TWISTED OPEN, a purposeful act designed to get the desired effect. The top jar had been popped straight up, past the screw-top. The seal was not torn as if the top was twisted...it was forced straight up. Product had leaked all over the inside of the little space created by the bubble wrap, all over the outside of the jars and over the caps. I've never seen this before and can only attribute this to a malicious act. If it's not, I'd love to hear it explained. To add insult to injury, there's no refund and no return. So I'm on the hook for the $18 the two overpriced jars cost me. I am INCENSED !!!
