Where exactly do the insence sticks go

I put one in the same place as the cones. Put it through at an angle and it seemed secure enough. It stopped burning when it got down to where the stick touched the side of the hole and didn't seem to cause any damage.

Where do the sticks go?

The little house next to the waterfall, there is a small hole where the stick fits in. Took me time to find it.

Does anybody else's burner ( river ) burn from top smokes in the air and bottom please bought as a gift the person who I bought it for asked me this ?

Mine looks like a waterfall of smoke and then at bottom like a smokey river. Love mine.
