Breeder's Edge Oral Cal Plus Gel, Whelping and Queening Calcium Supplement Ge...

We have been breeding Boxers for over 15 years and this is the first time I have tried any supplements for any of our girls. I am SO GLAD I did...PLEASE read all to know when it may be appropriate use. Normally for our males and females it is high quality food, prime body and health condition and a thorough work up from the vets before breeding either parents and then a switch to high quality puppy food for mom until babies are fully weaned. It has been wonderful and has always proven us great results. However, things do happen to shake this up, as in the case with our one girl. Our female had what seemed to be a longer birthing process, and weaker contractions her second litter than her first and longer by far from our other girls in the past. We also noticed that after day 4 she was spending less time with her litter than she had with her first and around 2.5 weeks was not wanting to feed at all. She had no signs of mastitis and babies nails were always trimmed and filed, she had excellent milk production, There was no more signs of distress when milk teeth emerged from the first litter, and she was comfortable and not stressed in her surroundings. All other logical things had been investigated and ruled out, please make sure you do the same before pumping extra stuff into your momma dogs!!! We had heavily researched Calcium as it can, if used inappropriately, be fatal due to causing heart issues, and in Boxers this is joke. After MUCH research and discussion with 2 different veterinarians I decided to have this on hand. We did deviate from most instructions I found online, but with consent and support from my vet. Please keep in mind our girl did NOT show signs of excess distress, shaking, trembling, muscle weakness, etc. or our usage would have been in line with information easily accessible online for full eclampsia treatment and then taken her straight to our emergency vet for confirmation and detailed instructions for her specific need. This usage was more for longer labor with disinterest in her litter. Our process for this was as follows: We waited to give our girl her 1st dose until she had her first puppy in the birthing canal and seeing she still had slightly weakened contractions and used the full dose for her size and number of puppies recommended (please note you need to divide the DAILY DOSAGE up by the number of puppies you know or estimate you will have as not to give too much) . After that we gave 1/2 the suggested dosage in the time period recommended on the tube. Once she was done delivering her healthy babies we gave her the last dose at 1/2 the dose recommended. Starting the next day we gave her 1/4 the recommended dose until her babies were 4.5 weeks old. She did FANTASTIC. This litter was born in record time and with such ease, not only for her, but a lot of our other girls. She did a lot less panting and was more than willing to be with her babies all the time for the first 2 weeks, even sleeping and hanging out with them while they were sleeping. She was more than willing to do more feedings than needed at 4 weeks and we actually had to start reducing her time feeding and diet to accommodate. At 4.5 weeks we then reduced to 1/4 every 3 days and then stopped at 6.5 weeks of age as feeding was minimal at this point. I am in love with this stuff. This is this girls last litter, as she has had 3, but it is a great asset to have on hand if the need ever arises for any of our other girls. I wont be using this every litter, and only on an as needed basis, as I said earlier, if it's not needed, it's not good. But man i wish i had been fully educated with the possibilities prior to our girls second litter. She was always very willing to lick this right off my finger and had NO stomach upset. She is one that normally refuses food and water from the onset of labor until babies are about 12 hours old, so this was very nice. I had ordered another calcium supplement commonly sold for dogs and offered her that first and she refused to lick it and when I touched it to her lip she gagged, that was the end of that, she doesnt need any undo stress durring labor. Fortunately we anticipated there may be an issue like that due to comments listed in the reviews for that item and already had this on hand! Overall I think if anyone needs this for mild issues like our own, an emergency situation or as a recommendation from your vet, this is THE ONE TO GET. It is more pricey than others but I'd it works it works and more so, without making your dog sick.

I used this gel for my Cane Corso during her labor and delivery, and I am beyond impressed with the results. It made a noticeable difference in supporting her contractions and providing some much-needed relief during the process. I’ll be honest—it is a bit on the pricier side, and I actually tried a different brand to see if I could save some money. However, after seeing how well this worked, I’m sticking with Breeder’s Edge from now on. The quality and peace of mind it provides during such a critical time are worth the investment. I highly recommend this to any breeder looking for reliable whelping support. I would love to see this brand offer sponsorships because I truly stand by the product!

Worked exactly as described! After the first dose you could see our beagle momma calm down and the contractions seemed to be more effective. 8 pups were born in 3.5 hrs. Our vet recommended continuing for three to help with nursing. She didn't like the taste initially but after labor, we just placed it in her food and she doesn't notice. I highly recommend!

This works amazing for my breeding moms (mini dachshunds). It’s been a lifesaver! I had an 8.5 lb mom have 3 pups her first litter and she struggled—had pre-eclampsia. I used this with her 2nd litter (also 3 pups) and I had no issues at all! It also helps during delivery with contractions. Highly recommend! I can’t have enough of this!

This product is fantastic. After giving birth, my female cat was having some trouble breathing, and I suspected hypocalcemia. Neither local vet clinics nor pet stores carried what I needed. In a rush, I had previously bought a cheaper alternative on Amazon，two 15 ml for $25 ,only to discover that the packaging lacked any information about the manufacturer or place of origin, and my cat refused to touch it. That was a big mistake on my part. I quickly bought this product instead, although it costs more, it is truly effective, my cat accepts it, and the quality is far more reliable. Highly recommended.

My dog has super litters – 12 to 13 puppies at a time. A breeder friend of mine recommended that I give her a dollop of this after every puppy. Boy did that work well! Last time she had a eclampsia and a uterine infection. This time she is perfectly healthy. I am of course, also supplementing her postpartum calcium heavily, but during labo: this kept her labor productive, on track, and her uterus clamping down so she didn’t have excessive bleeding after she was done whelping. Worth every penny

Love this stuff and it works great. Not a fan of the price however. I wish it was more affordable.

I always purchase this product a month before my girl is due to deliver. It’s so easy to administer, measure the dose. It’s so handy to have and I start using it right after the first puppy and between puppies and then after the puppies have been delivered.

I have been using this product for a few years now and it is great for whelping! I wouldn’t whelp without it! Every breeder new or experienced should have it on hand when whelping. Makes whelping a lot easy and safer for the dog!

This was a lifesaver when my dog had her puppies. We started with the initial dose after she pushed the first puppy out then gave 1cc after each puppy born. She had all 8 puppies out in just 3 hours! We also gave her one dose every day for the first three-four weeks after puppies were born to help prevent milk fever. It really helped calm down her heavy panting and restlessness the first few days after delivery. She was an attentive loving mother and everyone was happy and healthy. I would recommend this product to all breeders.

Must have for all breeders and whelping moms

Utilisé lors de l’accouchement pour des chiennes et c’est efficace.

I used the Calsorb gel but after being sold out and gard to find we decided to try breeders edge . I'm unsure if it worked better but one thing I did notice is our dogs love the taste of Breeders edge but didn't like the flavor of Calsorb
