Stanley Proto J9971R 19-inch Hip Roof Box With Tray, Red

It’s a metal box painted a reddish orange color. It looks pretty good and has a proto sticker on it. It’s made in the USA and well made too. The main thing is that the hinges done bind up and the inner tray is seats well on the inner ledges. I would sat that it’s a good value for the money you spend. I purchased this for use at work. I am taking tools out and putting them in all day. It’s getting dirty and scratched and a little beat up, but tool boxes are supposed to be that way. I think it will serve me well for a lot of years. Honestly I’d be surprised if I had to buy another one. It’s made of steel, but it’s not really very heavy. The handle seems to be of high quality but the handle is not steel, I think it’s a high density acrylic or plastic. Highly recommended overall!

I got this toolbox for my son to honor his completion of an Automotive Systems Technology degree. I got it because of the reputation of Stanley and Proto brands. It did not disappoint! The color is distinctive (bright red-orange), and it has two snap locks on the front, which other brands do not seem to have. The box is well made, lightweight, yet sturdy. I'm glad I chose this one.

As others have stated, it will come blemished but it’s like a cool first tattoo hahaha. The box has worn through where the latch is and the lock hole was bent but I carefully bent it back no problem. Sturdy. Closes nicely. Nice size. American made. 👌

The quality is great. Got this for my husband and he uses it everyday on his job so definitely worth the money. The size is great easy to carry around. Simple latches for easy access. Love the appearance and the color of it. Performance is definitely top notch.

Just what I wanted for the tools I need to carry around in my truck and jeep. Nice sturdy tool box just like the one grandpa carried around. This will last for years.

It’s great you can still purchase a large, sturdy metal tool box. I’m 65 y/o and the one I received when I was 25 has finally had it’s day. This is a great box. Only one small manufacturing problem. The lid is slightly misaligned with the box, so to close and lock, you need to nudge it a bit to line up. It can probably be fixed by forcing the lid just a bit to the other side.

I'm a journey man electrician for the ibew. I've been using this for my daily driver for 3 years and there is no sign of rust ( I live in northern wisconsin). This tool box fits everything you need depending on if your smart with what you choose to bring. Made in America tool box for a good price. Love it.

The box is very durable and is a great box. Not sure what was happening in the paint booth when this thing came through but the tool box is more orange than red. Take a look at other proto tool boxes in the picture.

When i got this box i was a little upset. It did come dented. But that had me thinking. If you bring a brand new toolbox to the job site, people poke fun. Having this arrive with a little scratch and a dent made that an easier transition haha.. All jokes aside. I'm a travelling union Electrician. I can tell by how this is made that it will last years and years going job to job!!
