This thing did what I needed it to with no problems.Its for sure great for the DIY guy. It is well made, and seemed to work perfectly.But I would not say this is everyday shop use quality. If I was running a repair shop, or working as a full time tech this would one would not be my go to option. But it will get you by for a while if you need it to.I am DIY guy and do repairs out of my home shop for extra cash. so this is perfect for me.I will likely use it less that 50 times in my life. And will not have any problems with that I am sure.For the price this is a great tool.The more expensive ones do have a bit more adjustment to them, and will last longer in a shop environment, but this one is well made, and will do 95% of cars out there with no problems.If your a DIY guy like me, or run a small shop where this is not going to be used a lot then this is the tool for you!

I used this support bar on a late model BMW 5 Series (E60) in part to perform a twin turbo upgrade. The bar was necessary because the R&R procedure for the turbos required that the sub-frame be dropped. The bar was easy to setup, and worked flawlessly in supporting the N54 engine / drivetrain. It is well built, and the included hardware is of good quality. Just be certain its overall length and weight limitations apply to your specific needs or application before purchasing. All in all I am very satisfied with this product, and I'm certain you'll be too.

Subaru transmissions are very long and also they are un-equal in weight. They tend to rotate when lifting from the bottom. This support bar can be used at the strut mounts to lift the transmission by the pitch stop bracket on top of the transmission. That way the trans is lifted from a center point, while you use a floor jack or transmission jack underneath. The included chain is a bit too small to use the Subaru pitch stop bolt, but 5/16" chain from your local Hazard Fraught will work perfectly.It makes the process much easier for a home gamer, since you need to lift and align the trans from the underside. This is the extra set of hands you really need.

This engine support makes it extremely easy and pretty safe to do automotive work on your engine, engine mounts and transmission. The support bar is very thick metal, very adjustable for the car you are working on and extremely heavy. The paint on it is very nice looking, it came with all the accessories needed for my projects. The only thing that brought this down a star is that the welds looked a little armature but other then that, solid product.

I have used several different types of supports over the last 25 years and this one seems very well built. The weak link (pun intended) in my opinion would be the chains. That doesn't mean they won't work, but If you plan to use this professionally, I might considering better ones eventually. I have several different chains at my disposal, but I did use the chains that come with it to R&R a 4T40E out of a Saturn L series that you can see in the pictures. I left the engine supported over night while waiting for the replacement transmission to be ready. Everything held up great!

The unit is mostly well made. The only issue I had was that the ha del that threads onto the support hooks to raise or lower the engine had burs on it causing it to not spin freely like it should. Additionally this caused a lot of fine metal shavings to drop onto the head of the motor making clean up not as simple. Good product but quality controll could use a little extra.
