Would this stand hold a large cast iron cauldron? Mine is about 24-30” in diameter.

Personally, I would be hesitant about putting something with that diameter in the vertical position. I feel it will be more stable If you laid it in the horizontal position. The only drawback with that is you won’t have the distance from the coals to the bottom of your cast-iron.

Will a one pound propane tank fit in the space in the middle? If I use it under a table top fire bowl?

No, the minimum diameter of the hole in the stand is 2-3/4 inches. The propane tank has a diameter of 4 inches.

Will the cook stand get ruined if left in the rain?

The cook stand will almost certainly rust if left out in the rain.

Will this stand hopd the sportsman grill lodge makes?

No. The Sportsman grill is a table top grill. Why would you need to put it on anything? This stand is made to hold skillets and Lodge's new Cook-It-All.
