NoCry Heavy Duty Cut Resistant Work Gloves — Durable Cut Resistant Gloves with Grip Dots, Level 5 Cutting Gloves for Chefs, Perfect Wood Carving Gloves, Anti Cut Gloves for Glass Handling, Chef Gloves

Very well made product (I guessed US or Germany, but they're made in Thailand). The gloves have a supple stretch to them that was unexpected. The included printed instruction sheet (Yay!) says "Made of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene, glass fibre and spandex. The Amazon listing and sticker on the ziplock bag say "Stainless Steel material", but there is no evidence of steel, stainless or otherwise. It may be enclosed in the yarn, but that's doubtful, as it's nice and stretchy. I'm just guessing, but maybe the steel construction has been replaced with the UHMW/Glass fiber as listed. There is no evidence of glass fibre either, no itchy, irritating feel, these are just NICE! You wouldn't know they are cut resistant if it didn't say so. They fit, feel and work like super high end work gloves. The instructions say not to test, but I just had to, and used the cuff of the safe (cutting) hand. 3 strokes with a freshly stropped 2" Sloyd Knife in the same spot didn't break a single fiber or even leave a mark, good enough for me, I'm convinced they will stop almost any slip (nothing is infallible). The weave is a lot like chain mail, and like it, they are susceptible to puncture with a pointed blade tip, but that's a longshot carving accident (even then, I'd expect they would help reduce the injury a fair amount). Size is a little big if anything (a good thing), most gloves I buy marked "Large" fit too tight to be comfortable, and these are just a tad large, what I consider a perfect fit. They are an ambidextrous cut, where they fit either hand well, and as such can be worn with nibs in or nibs out. If you only wear a glove on the off hand, you in effect get 2 gloves, one with nibs, one without. (I'm not a fan of ambi gloves, but these stretch-fit so well, you don't even notice) These are a top of the line tool, suitable for many trades, they would excel for sheet metal work, glass and other potentially sharp material handling, banding work, fabric/leather cutting or food prep as well as wood carving, sculpting and any such blade-centric activities. Instructions say no heat or power tools (snag risk I'm pretty sure), and don't feed your T-rex carrots with them. I can't recommend them enough, I will be using them for a variety of jobs where I used to pull out the uncomfortable, stiff leather gloves (or didn't). If you participate in activities where cuts are a risk, these could save you from an injury, (minor or life altering) and they are about as unobtrusive as one can make a glove, so you will be much more likely to be wearing them when that slip happens. They are more comfortable than the smack of a razor sharp knife blade into the side of your hand, trust me on that one. Don't be without them when that slip happens.

I initially bought Medium based on the description, which seemed odd because there's nothing about me that's medium. However, I e-mailed them and the sent me a larger size no questions asked so A+ for customer service! I use these for whittling and they work great. Most whittlers only use one glove for their wood holding hand and a thumb guard for their knife hand. But these have enough dexterity that I just use them on both hands, which I like better than using a thumb guard on the knife hand. The dots are GREAT for getting extra grip on your wood, especially with small figures and stuff like that where you often have some kind of compromised hold on the piece. The dots are also nice on the knife hand when I have to use a goofy grip, like a pencil grip. I also like that I can choke up on the knife blade with these and not have to worry about my index finger (like when using a thumb guard only) and because of the dots I still have great grip on the blade. These are extremely comfortable and I have zero issues wearing them for long periods of time. I have no intention of testing the cut resistance of these on myself, but I watched a youtube video of someone doing some torture tests on a bunch of level 5 gloves and these did the best; and based upon that test you would have to put some serious effort into trying to draw blood while whittling.

***Updated Review: I don’t like these gloves for the reasons discussed below. What I do like is the customer service for No Cry. They responded to my comment here and invited me to get in touch with them. They refunded me the price of the gloves and sent me a free pair of their Level 5 cut resistant gloves which do fit true to their advertised measurements. The new gloves are nice but I really wanted stainless steel reinforced gloves for carving. I will use them but still be on the lookout for new carving gloves. Thanks No Cry but wish the stainless steel model fit better. I increased from 2 stars to 4 stars because you do not find companies willing to stand behind their products today. If I can’t find a stainless steel reinforced glove I won’t hesitate to order the Level 5 Cut resistant glove from them again. Original Review: I am a woman and bought the size small according to the measurements. The finger length is great but the girth around my palm is too large. Ironically, the space where the fingers attach to the body of the glove is very narrow and uncomfortable. The grip dots make the glove stiff and hard to grip a carving. Overall, the finger openings and the stiffness make the gloves unusable. I had hoped to find a better wood carving glove but this isn’t it. And yes, I did buy a pair of gloves solely for the left hand glove for carving. Disappointing.

Not only is this a well-made, outstanding product, they have the BEST Customer Service I have ever dealt with. I placed my order according to the size chart and ordered a small pair of gloves. Even though it fit it was just a little too tight around my fingers. I contacted the company and without hesitation they sent me a new pair of Medium gloves. They work perfectly. I would highly, highly recommend No Cry. They can easily be a model to many of how Customer Service is to be done! Thank you No Cry!

I bought a large for my husband and a small for myself. We just got into woodcarving spoons, cups and miniature figures. Hubby, being a man, tends to carve bigger chunks, and had already cut himself three times before we ordered the gloves. I had one minor slice in my thumb. So we got the gloves. The dexterity is great. I don't have to take them off to tie my apron or open a door. I have a good grip on my work piece, and should my knife or gouge slip, the glove stops it. Hubby has a small hole in one of his, but it protected his hand from a wound. I have really small hands, and the fingers are a bit long for me, but they fit tight so I am able to pull them tight at the fingertips and they stay that way. No, they are not indestructible, and the company makes no claims for them to be. But they do prevent wounds from slips of the knife, and they don't compromise dexterity when you wear them. I like 'em.

Before I say anything about these gloves I want to first point out that this is the absolute BEST customer service I have EVER experienced while shopping anywhere online. Through no fault of this seller, the gloves I ordered did not fit me comfortably. The measurement chart provided was most helpful but my fingers are short and not real slender. Needless to say, I require a different size so I contacted the seller, which was very easily done. I very soon after received a reply from the seller who was most anxious to make sure I receive gloves that will fit me. That is what I call extraordinary customer service. I will definitely buy more from them as I need in future. As for the gloves, even though the fingers were too tight, I found the gloves to be comfortable in the sense that they won't be awkward to work in as I feared before I ordered them. I am new to wood carving and I worried that wearing gloves while working would be a hindrance. The grips will be a great help and overall the gloves seem to be a great weight while offering protection from sharp tools and knives. Very pleased.

I bought these as a gift for a female in our household who recently cut a finger washing a new knife for the first time. I bought the wrong size, my bad. Customer service to replace was excellent, great communications, lightning fast follow up and shipping of the replacement gloves. Easy return of the wrong size, dropped them off at our nearby Kohl’s. The gloves are just as advertised. Well made, really nice looking, and great fit when you pick the correct size. Haven’t seen the results of washing yet, especially of the gripper dots. I’m confident with proper care these will last. These gloves were recommended on my preferred YouTube BBQ channel. Harry Soo offered a great idea, wear protective nitrile gloves over these to use prepping meats for bar-b-que. Win-win, control the spread of E. coli and other food more pathogens and with these gloves underneath protect your hands from food prep cutting accidents. Be sure to understand the use and benefit of these gloves. I highly recommend these gloves.

This could be a 4 or 5 star review if they fit better. The fingers are so tight that I have to force the gloves on, then pull the fingers down as far as possible to (almost) get to the ends. That said, I used them on my mandoline instead of using a follower. They allowed me to slice zucchini all the way down to the end, and to use little pressure to allow very thin slices. The gloves protected well and showed no damage after use. They're hand washable, and a quick hand wash gets them clean, and they dry well (although air drying is a bit slow).

The fit and finish on these gloves is excellent, and I’m sure they will perform as intended. Although I haven’t had to test them to see yet, the rubberised texture on the contact area of palm and fingers is great. So improving grip when in use, nice touch. Overall quality is very good, fast delivery and excellent product quality and value for money leaves me confident in recommending these gloves highly.

Very happy with this purchase. I also loved the email they sent post delivery explaining the product further

Spedizione rapida come sempre.
