Does anyone know what material this shackle is made of? I need a secure combination lock.

It's a hardened shackle and very secure against bolt cutters. The only 2 ways to forcibly remove the lock is by using a cut-off grinding wheel or picking open the combination, neither of which your common criminal will do in a hurry. I'm a professional locksmith for 35 years.

Does the round padlock slide smoothly?

We had one that worked well but the second one in the pack was difficult to lock...required a “jiggle” which we thought would be too cumbersome when locked. We returned ours.

If only one of the round locks i buy works properly, one of the round locks is defective. must i return the 2pcs? are there any other solutions? can i

I would imagine you’re going to have to call Amazon and return the product they’re gonna have to return it back to the manufacture I would imagine just the one because you can set the numbers the same on both locks versus one

What do I do if my password does not work? It is on a 40 ft family storage container but it will not work, how can I reset it?

If for some reason your combination stops working and you cannot unlock the padlock you will have to drill it off. It's not easy and will take some time....you may just want to call a locksmith to do this for you.

Strong but hard to use

You have to leave the code visible in order to leave it open. It's also hard to get around a lock

Good value

Easy to use and you don’t have to worry about lost keys. Strong, and much more difficult to cut with bolt cutter than master lock
