I have this set of knobs, but I want to be able to remove the screw in the end. How can I best do this?

You could be in luck with this style. Originally, this is the style I bought for frequently-used kitchen drawers and cabinets. With lots of use, the screws in these have to be constantly tightened; I found the glue holding the screws to the inside of the knob often became loose. In the end I used this style in my bathroom drawers and cabinets, and order ones with screws though the whole knobs for the kitchen. You could either take a chance with the ones you wrote about OR Amazon has some you can buy less of - and see if you can get that screw off easily (hair-dryer might help too.) Will the knobs be the ones pictured and not ones from another set?

Yes they are the same. At least, mine were. They are pretty. There were several doubles, so I used those when I wanted two doors to match.

Are these bright white or muted colors?

The knobs that have a lot of white are bright white. The colors are phenomenal!

what size drill bit is needed to drill the holes for them?

I didn't have to drill holes in my doors, just remove the old knobs and twist in the new ones. But I did get my drill bits out and the 5/32 is the same size as the screws attached to the vintage knobs. I love the way they look on my cabinets.
