As I remembered.
Many years ago when I was young my Aunt used to read this book to me. The book cover on this edition is very close to what she used to have. The story has not changed and the illustrations were excellent.

Not to be missed picture book
Gorgeous illustrations and an engaging story, this is my four-year-old's favorite picture book. We have been reading it often for six months. (And this is in a house with lots of children's library books and books he owns.)

Beautiful book, original story
The story is well known but what make this book lovely is the quality of the illustrations. We were super impressed and our little boy loved it too. The writing is for children but not babyish, with longer paragraphs which are perfect for a 6 yo. Definitely one of the children books we enjoyed the most.

Lovely illustrations
I bought this book for my grandson. The illustrations are really beautifully done. I remember having a copy of this one when I was a child, and my sister recognised it too. It's really a lively present for a child.
