How does this attach to the wall box I already have?

It doesn't attach to a wall box; it attaches to a weatherproof outlet box. The extension comes with screws and a gasket. The extension aligns perfectly.

Does the seal that comes with this extender box fit good? I bought a competitors extender box. The seal was basically unusable because it did not fit.

The seal fits fine, but I've gotten into the habit of adding some silicone to both sides to make the seal more permanent and ensure no water gets in.

Yes you will need longer screws. Note; the more gaskets you need to seal the additional seems the more chances of moisture finding it's way into the outlet box.
