Seah Hardware Universal Roof Rack Cross-Bars 2 PC.

These things are awesome. Bought since my car doesn’t have the roof rails or any sort of rack which I need for a ladder for work. Bough these with low expectation. 50 bucks and an idea. Install and build was pretty easy. Once all was cinched down I threw my ladder up there and haven’t worried since. I have pulled them off a few times and inspected for any damaged caused. None so far. Be careful if your roof isn’t super thin. If you cinch the ratchets down too much you will dent your roof. If only once for a quick second you should be okay. Wind noise is as expected. Look is pretty dope. Changes the look and helps it stand out. The whole thing is super light so add anything on top and you’re good. I have about a 50 pound extension ladder on it and it’s had no issues at all. If you position it perfectly it’s super stable and you get get anything perfectly level on top. I suggest making small marks with a sharpie for where your feet should line up on the inside of your door frame.

I have two older Kia Souls (2010 and 2011). Few issues with them but one beef - I have not been able to use a roof rack on these cars. I fit a dryer in one without trouble, but nothing on the roof. The roof racks I had uaws clips that to hold onto the gutters. These cars don't have gutters, and the the roof line over the door is smooth and slanted, NOTHING will hold a roof rack on. A couple of years ago I had to haul a brass headboard to a donation center and I ended up doing just these roof racks do to hold it on. I put a blanket on the roof and ran tie down straps through the door openings and pulled it snug with the ratchet inside the car. It worked. These use the same method, just skipping the blanket to protect the roof. With a weight limit of 170 lbs. they aren't made for heavy loads, but of two of us older folks can lift the load onto the roof, it should be OK. I positioned the feet so that they are close to the edge of the roof where it is strongest. Bolts go through tabs on the feet and the pipes, straps go through the top of the feet and the loop around the pipes so that it pulls on the pipe. Rubber pads snap onto the bottom of the feet to protect the roof. I put the feet where I wanted them to rest on the roof to select the holes. Put the bolts on, tighten down the nuts and you're done. No problems at all lining up holes to get the bolts through. I left the nuts just a little loose so that the feet can pivot a bit to align flat on the roof. The bolts are not metric but standard Philips head 1/4-20 thread X 2 1/4 inches long if you prefer hex head bolts or wanted to change to stainless steel. Nuts are 7/16" self locking with the nylon insert. The one thing that I would be inclined to do is to run a strap from the front bumper over the top of the load to the back and snug it down enough that it won't lift up as you go down the road.

🧩 Installation & Ease of Use – Very Straightforward Installation was quick and painless. The setup process is simple, and it’s just as easy to remove when needed. Everything feels pretty intuitive without any complicated steps. 🔧 Build Quality – Decent, but Not Premium The materials aren’t super high-end, but they don’t feel extremely cheap either. It’s somewhere in the middle—good enough for regular use, but not something I’d trust blindly with very heavy or long-term permanent loads. 🚗 Real-World Use – Works Well So Far In actual use, it mounts securely on the roof and has held up fine so far. For lighter to moderate loads like a kayak, it has performed well and stayed stable during travel. That said, my main hesitation is that it relies on ratchet straps for mounting. That makes me a bit cautious about long-term stability and anything very heavy or high-stress over time. 💰 Value – Strong Point For the price, the value is genuinely very good. It’s hard to find something this easy to install and use at this cost, especially for occasional or light-to-moderate use. ⚖️ Final Thoughts (4/5 stars) Overall, I’m satisfied with it for now. It’s easy to install, works well for my needs, and offers great value. My only real concern is long-term durability and how it would hold up under heavier or constant use. For occasional use on a Civic, though, it’s been solid.

Fit my FRS (will fit BRZ/86) fine. The tension of the strap does create a gap between the window and the weatherstripping so if it rains water will leak into the car, and there is some whistling/wind noise while driving. Exceeded 60mph with no issues at all. Didn't notice any bending and had no issues with assembly other than the metal used for the bolts is super soft and will strip when you try to tighten them. One had a crack in the head so I just swapped it with the spare. Only use it for distances around 30mins but it does the job! No complaints

Even my low expectations of this inexpensive roof rack were not met. The uprights are molded plastic - which may be adequate for modest loads (no load rating appears on the product or literature), but disappoint nonetheless. A much bigger problem was that one of the two tubular steel crossbars, the three pairs of holes provided as mounting points for the roof uprights are NOT DRILLED IN THE SAME PLANE as their counterparts at the other end of the tube. So once assembled, the roof pads at the two ends of the steel tube are about 10 degrees different from one another with respect to the tube. So only one of the two pads can be flat on the roof, and the other will be only touching along one edge of the roof pad, and actually installing the system and tensioning the ratchet strap would twist the plastic roof mount or tear the plastic at the bolt flange holes, or dent the vehicle roof. There was no mechanism to contact the seller, only “self-help” instructions which could not possibly cover this problem. Without time to request a replacement (and no confidence that the replacement would be OK), I drilled a new hole in the correct orientation nearby the poorly-manufactured holes and made it work.

Not terrible for the price, but it allows rain to leak inside the car. Held two ladders side by side. Easy enough to install, but the strap is in the way for taller driver/passenger. Would return if I could but waited too long.

I will update review once I have used at least once. So far I love it. Added some noodle and that's about it

Strap wraps across inside of vehicle and breaks the seals at top of doors so it leaks in the rain. I wouldnt buy it again.

These roof racks fit my Hyundai Sonata and Hyundai Elantra perfectly. Installation was easy, and they feel solid and well-made. I haven’t had the chance to drive with them yet, so I can’t say anything about wind noise, but they look like they’ll hold up well. So far, very happy with the purchase.

Was secure enough to transport a 160lb septic tank on my roof, I drove across a long stretch of highway with high crosswinds and it didn't budge.

This roof rack cross bar works reasonably well for light, in-town use, but it does come with some limitations. Installation was fairly straightforward, and once mounted, it handled basic, short-distance trips without much trouble. However, I did notice that it’s not as universally compatible as advertised. It didn’t fit as securely on certain roof rack setups, so it’s worth double-checking compatibility before purchasing. At higher highway speeds, the stability becomes a concern—it doesn’t feel as sturdy, and there’s noticeable movement and vibration. One downside I experienced was some minor denting where the unit made contact with the roof, likely due to pressure points and the way it sits. Because of that, I’d recommend being cautious with how tightly it’s installed and what kind of load you’re carrying. Overall, it’s a decent option for occasional, low-speed use around town, but for frequent highway driving or heavier loads, you may want to consider a more heavy-duty alternative.

Buena calidad, el precio un poco alto

These roof racks are an issue. I followed other people's advice and glued on the pads since apparently they have a tendency to fall off. The racks fit well and stayed in place, were easy to install and did stay on the car without slipping, and did carry our two kayaks no problem. There is a huge issue however that other people mentioned though. These racks are soooo noisy, giving off a high pitch whine, when going over 60kph. We tried everything, blocking the spare holes with duct tape, pulling the straps really tight, nothing worked. It appears the noise is coming from where the base touches the car, like air is getting under since tightening the straps reduced the noise slightly. Perhaps replacing the pads with something softer might work that will be snugger against the roof, I don't know. If you're just using these to move something around on city streets at low speed, these are fine. If you're going camping or on a road trip where you'll travel on a highway....these will drive you nuts!
