Why are the stars on the wrong side? The stars shouldn't be close to the inner forearm they should be on the other side. Is this a misprint?

It's actually a pretty cool story that goes way back to Revolutionary War days. Well, as long as the stars were facing forward that meant the attack was still on. The troops were taught to follow the stars. So stars forward means we're moving forward.
