Haven't really gotten any hail since I've bought this so not really sure if it works but I will say make sure to let it dry because it tends to hold onto the water after throwing it in the trunk and it's a little heavy so make sure you leave yourself room so you can put it on the ground to fold. Also there is no getting it back into the cover it comes with. Be careful with the straps as well you miss hooking it properly and it shoots back in the face lol it hurts!

This item has plastic hooks to anchor it.. My car (BMW 535i) is almost entirely smooth along the bottom side edges and there was almost nowhere to anchor it to. Ultimately anchored the sides by looping through the door handles since it only covers down to the bottom of windows. Had to hook it into my lower grill in front which was a tight fit and could barely get them loose when attempting removal because of the tight fit of the hook.. It probably works fairly well since most hail damage would be to the top of the vehicle as opposed to the sides which would be almost parallel to the hail depending on strength and direction of wind. Just very hard for me to get anchored.. I would check your auto surfaces under the car before purchasing and make sure you have some relatively sharp abrupt edges under your car for the anchor hooks..

I haven't had it for long and I have not been able to test it with hail. There is nothing hard in the pad so I am worried about tennis ball-sized hail. But for smaller hail I'm sure it will be great. It covers my old 3 Series BMW well. Finding places to tie down the straps was difficult but I'm ran a rope around the bottom of the car so there is something to tie onto.

40MPH wind ripped every strap off the cover. Didn't even get one use out of it. Absolutely not worth a fraction of the sale price.

I live in hail/tornado alley. This cover fits great for my Subaru Impreza hatchback. I’m confident that if the hail comes down straight my car will be protected, but the cover could have been made a few inches wider to protect the sides when strong winds accompany hail...

Last and Latest Review after 8+ Weeks. Even though this was past the return policy the seller did send me another cover. The material on the sides that was part of my original concern is the same material that came on the new one and will I'm sure indeed wear off and flake again. I've decided to only use the cover if and when hail is literally minutes away from falling on the car. That said, the cover will probably work for that assuming I am constantly watching for a hail storm and close to my vehicle when that goes down. NOTE TO SELLER: Thanks for taking care of me and tell the manufacture of this product to invest in better quality. I'd pay more for the product if the flaws were of quality materials. UPDATED REVIEW AFTER 7 WEEKS IN CAPS. OUTSIDE MATERIAL IS WEARING OFF AND FLAKING OFF. HORRIBLE WASTE OF MONEY! DO NOT BUY! I REACHED OUT TO THE SELLER. WE'LL SEE IF THEY DO ANYTHING FOR ME. KINDA HARD TO PROTECT AGAINST HAIL IF THE FOAM CAN'T STAY INSIDE THE COVERING! This fit my 2013 BMW 335 sedan great. The problem is, the picture of the item shows the orange trim bright and all the same color with logos. The main black shell should be the same also, but it's not. On mine it has the bright orange trim w/logos on the top, but the side flaps has a dull orange with no logo and to be honest it also looks like different black covering. Kinda looks cheap on the sides, but nice on the top. Padding looks and feels like it'll stop hail, but I was disappointed in the looks of the product. I didn't get what was pictured. Looks like it's new on the top, but used material on the sides. I wish it was nicer looking, but I purchased it to prevent hail damage and it feels like it will do that. First hail storm will prove if it does or not.
