The Mule Surf and SUP Paddle Board Carrier Transport System

This is the biggest piece of garbage. There is no comfortable way to hold the strap by hand while walking it to the beach and if you hook it up to your bike seat the edge of your board will scrape the street. Then as I was walking up from the beach the straps fell apart! If I could give it zero stars I would but I want people to be warned.

I received this as a gift from my wife and kids for Father's Day. (I did ask for it specifically after searching for something like this) I was cautiously optimistic and was slightly concerned that the SUP to seat attach point might allow my board to rub against the rear wheel. After getting it initially setup, which only took a few minutes, I flipped it over, slipped the strap over the seat of my beach cruiser and was impressed. Then I grabbed my paddle and secured it in the paddle holder that’s integrated with the design. I set off for the mile and a half trek to our local dock to get in the water for a paddle session. (For reference, I have a 9' 11" Walden Magic SUP) Getting the board unloaded and in the water was a breeze. This was last week and I’ve used this thing every day since then. The beauty, as I see it, is with its simplicity! It has exactly what is needed for the task at hand and nothing more. The only difficulty I had was inflating the tires when I discovered that both were shipped pretty much with almost no air in them. Because of how small the wheels are, my standard bike pump fitting would not fit on the tire stem and lock on to function. I had to go to two different local gas station pumps until I found a fitting that was designed in a way that would work. It would have been nice had the tires been inflated. Back to The Mule Surf and Paddle Board Carrier, if you’re looking for something simple and effective to attach either a surfboard or a paddleboard to your bicycle, I can highly recommend this one. Also, it you're looking to just attach and walk with your board, this thing will also work great. Biking to my local spot gives me a nice warm-up before getting in the water, I see that as a bonus and I'm not having to load it in or onto my vehicle for such a short trip. Very Nice.

The Mule works awesome, it's quick and easy to set up. I'm using it for a 14' Zeedonk race board, the center strap is just long enough to fit a 14' board. The adjustable nose cover is wide when fully open and doesn't fit the pointed nose as well as I would like even with the fitting straps cinched down, I simply hold the strap centered on the nose with one hand while riding, otherwise the strap can rotate and the nose can make contact with the rear tire. Overall, for an adjustable system to fit all kinds of boards it works great and I highly recommend. Just use common sense and a little ingenuity to make it work for your specific board.

Just gonna say I'm pretty easy to please and I don't usually write reviews... At least I haven't for awhile. Felt the need to share because I'm a little upset about ruining my board. Not a fan for a few reasons. Got this for my 10'6" SUP... Read a bunch of reviews and chalked up the bad ones to the few crazies that usually write bad reviews. Most stuff I've bought (and I've bought A LOT of stuff on Amazon haha) has a few bad reviews here and there that don't match up when whatever I buy gets delivered. I also want to say I did a fair amount of research before buying a carrier... Looked at the questions and it was repeatedly written that it's good for both surfboards and SUPs. So. First. Directions were sub par. It's not THAT hard to figure out on your own but the descriptive words used in the directions were really no help at all. The pictures were pretty bad as well. Honestly, no big deal about bad directions. BUT coupled with the fact that I finally get it all hooked together after a bit of struggle, put my board on, and it just barely fits with a lot of maneuvering and adjusting.... I walk it maybe two and a half blocks. Despite securing everything the way the poorly worded directions tell me to, the tires are pressed up against both sides of the board.... They were rubbing the sides of my board and basically scratched off a sizable blotch on each side. I'll attach pictures. No matter how I adjusted it, once I lifted it to start pulling...it still rubbed. Made center strap shorter, longer. Made back straps wider, less wide. No matter what I do, it rubs. When it's just sitting on the ground, it appears to fit but when you start to pull it (I was walking mine) the tires bend inward to rub your board. It's a great concept, but either the tires need to be softer, the PVC pipe needs to be longer, or the strap in the back needs to be closer to the tires so the thinner part of my board is lined up with the wheels. Essentially, it's too late for me to return it (I didn't get a chance to use it until over a month after buying it), so I'm going to try to buy some things at Home Depot to adjust and make it less damaging to my board. Maybe all I need is a longer PVC pipe. Just annoying that I scratched up my board and STILL have to go out to buy additional things to fix something I paid good money for. Might be nice if they made two different sizes.... One to fit surfboards and one to fit larger SUPs. Or provide measurements for the max width it'll hold. I'm on the beach right now otherwise I'd measure my board and list it for you all. If I remember I'll edit later and add the numbers.

The directions were missing step 2. I tried following this photo, but the strap did not appear on the board that was rigged up. Therefore I was trying to figure out how it attached. I could get the laces tight enough, so when I finally got it rigged up, it was slipping downward. By that time it was now laying on my back tire. I had to abandon the whole thing and have not tried since. Thought this would be the answer to transporting my board by bike.

The Mule Surf and SUP board carrier is awesome. It is super easy, convenient and packs down into a flat bag. We attach it to the back of our electric bike and head down the beach. We have transported as many as 3 boards on it at one time. We bought extra bungee cords and put towels in between. Surfs Up!

Omg. The only reason I can't return this stupid bad design is because frustrated I've thrown it across the yard too many times. My 11 year old grandson could have come up with a better design. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!! Bad design doesn't work. My board fell out of it on the rocks and damaged it. Shall I go on?

The Mule is a great product, It may take a few moments to adjust to the size of your board (sup, surf) but it works!!! I bought this as a gift and i was aprehensive and nervous, but at the end of the day it works well!!! With a strap system like this it takes a little time and patience, but after day 2 we were champs, was an easy ride. The price is right and the smoothe ride was better. Lots of looks from locals with PVC style carrieirs, just have to adjust it right for your own specifications. And it fits into a bag no bigger than a back-pack!!! Hjghly recomended, Salt Life
