Fundamentals of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing

Accurate instruction and easy to read.

This book is an excellent resource for GD&T because it provides ample examples, is highly technical, is clear, and is concise.The author of the book assumes that you are capable of reading at a college level, so if you're looking for a colorful guide that mixes fun and facts, or a simpleton's guide to GD&T, this is not the book for you.This is the foremost guide on GD&T that I have found. I was a complete beginner at GD&T and already after two months of reading this I feel safe and secure that my knowledge will lead to accurate practice, knowing that if I have a question, I can consult this book and find a cogent and technically accurate answer to any question about GD&T.

I bought this book because we’re changing over to 2009, but no formal training yet. Paused after reading some of the comments, but my friend told me to buy this one. Glad I did. It’s the unvarnished facts, told in a direct, logical (not cutesie) and easy to understand way. It’s getting the job done for me, so 5 stars.

I read some of the other reviews and feel they're way off the mark. This book is the "fundamentals" of GD&T. Not advanced and with zero intention of making you an engineer. The book is well thought out and logical in both sequence and approach. This text provides the inspector and calibration technician the necessary skills and competence to interpret drawings/prints for accurate measurements. I would recommend this textbook to anyone who is new to the field and/or those needing to brush up on the fundamentals. The price did seem a little steep in my opinion, which is the only reason I rated a 4/5 stars versus a 5/5.

It reviews all the important material and gives picture examples of nearly all of the material for GD&T.

If you're buying/renting this book, it's probably because it required for a class. It's not a great book. The forward brags about how many experts were involved in its creation, but neglects to mention that they didn't talk to each other, so it's just one big mess of unrelated and contradictory "facts". Most notably, a huge percentage of the study questions at the end of each chapter haven't been updated with the actual content of the chapter, so the correct answers aren't in the book, but a quick Google search shows the answer from previous editions. Only get this book if it's required for a class, there are better, free, resources to actually learn about GD&T.

Questo libro è una vera Bibbia per capire le tolleranze GD&T ASME. Molto chiaro e con alcuni esercizi. Metto 4 stelle perché nel libro parla di colori nelle immagini ma il libro è stampato in bianco e nero...Ultima critica: le soluzioni degli esercizi si trovano ma online cercando un po' su Google. Sarebbe stato meglio fare una sezione dedicata a fine libro o con un sito internet dedicato ma indicato sul libro.

Great book to learn about GD&T.

Le doy 5 estrellas es un libro que tiene ejemplos de cada tema. Va al grano, es concreto y sin tantas explicaciones.
