These activities break the mold of the typical writing in the science class, i.e. lab report, by including creative writing styles such as skits, poems, and writing from a different perspective. This book offers writing activity ideas for grades 3-12. While many of the activities are particularly suited for grades 3-8, the author does suggest many ways to adapt the activities for different grade levels or subject areas. The activities in this book cover all the core disciplinary ideas in the NGSS so it is a great book for any Science teacher. The book is nicely formatted, making it easy to understand the lesson plans and how to implement each activity in the class. The author also suggests ways to differentiate each activity for different learning levels.
