This is my second Polit & Beck nursing research book. Each book makes understanding research simple. They provide detailed examples throughout the chapters and with every definition. The book cover is easily damaged (matte finishes typically are). I would highly recommend anyone read Polit & Beck's work if you want to understand research better.

An amazing textbook. I use it frequently for research design and analysis. Generally, I rent textbooks for courses but at the recommendation of a colleague I purchased this outright and I am very glad. Highly recommend for Ph.D. or DNP students/researchers.

I got this book because I totally have no clue on how to cite. I was instructed by my professors to get this book. I figured this would help me strengthen my knowledge on appropriate APA citations. I thought that going and skimming through this book was slightly harder than it needed. There is a ton of detail in here, so it was confusing for me to get and find exactly what I needed.

This book is a great resource for many levels of nurse researcher - from the experienced scientist looking for help describing why to use a certain method to someone they are helping to a novice nurse looking to expand their knowledge of research.

The book rental is an exceptional idea, especially great for instances when the book will not have a perpetual use. Only draw back is that the initial rental period does not last for the duration of 12 week classes.

Got this book as a rental. It was brand new! I was very impressed by this. I barely cracked the pages for my course, so the next person getting this book it will be practically new as well.

This is the only book I bought for grad school this term... and as the description says it being in good condition, well within 2 weeks, the book binding started falling apart. I continue to have pages and sections falling out even after gluing the book back together - to no avail once again just a few days ago (have had it for a little over 4 months total). I wish I can exchange this book or return it like a rental book!

Polit and Beck is an excellent book. My copy of the 9th edition is well done. But in my copy of chapter 16 of the 10th edition, on descriptive statistics, under frequency distributions, Table 16.1, which includes unanalyzed quantitative data, is included, but Table 16.2, which is supposed to illustrate a frequency distribution of the same data, is missing. This is because chapter 16 begins on page 356, continues to page 358, and then jumps back to page 355, repeating the last page of chapter 15. After that, it repeats pages 356 to 358 and then jumps from page 358 to 367. Eight pages of the text are simply missing at this point. After pages 367 to 370, it then includes pages 367 to 370 once more. The publisher completely botched the collation of pages in producing this copy of the book. I have no idea whether the problems in chapter 16 may were corrected in other copies or not, but textbooks such as this are costly and there is no excuse for them at all! Publishers of academic literature are supposed to do a better job!
