Brainstring Advanced Brainteaser Puzzle – 3D Block Puzzle

This thing is fantastic. It's better than a Rubik's cube: no algorithms to remember in order to solve it, and it doesn't make the layperson want to destroy it in frustration.You can get it incredibly tangled up and spend fifteen minutes to half an hour untangling it, or you can tangle it gently for a kid. It's very sturdy (I've been chucking it in my backpack with all my college textbooks rattling around to play with when I have some downtime and it's no worse for wear), but I'd be worried about the elastic strings getting stretched out of shape if you leave it in a tangled position for too long. But that doesn't have anything to do with the product quality, that's because of how elastics work.The only thing that slightly annoyed me with it is that the plastic isn't clear on mine - it has a veeery light purple-ish tinge to it.But seriously. Great toy. Every time I pull it out anywhere, people ask about it and want to check it out, and they usually are surprised at how inexpensive it was, given what it is and the quality of it.

This thing is so much fun! I first heard about it from the YouTube channel Mr.Puzzle, and had to have one. Really glad I did as I love knot and logical progression puzzles.Although, I did accidentally find "extra hard" challenge mode. The goal is to stretch the colored strings to opposite sides of the ball without touching, but I thought it'd be fun to do the opposite of that and put all six nubs on the same face of each hemisphere. The first color was super easy to solve, the second was also very easy, the third color was really difficult and I almost gave up on the fourth because it was so hard! Only do that after practicing with this thing a lot and you get comfortable with how to maneuver the nubs around each other.

I agree that the clear plastic seems a bit fragile but not at all looks cheap. I guess that under some frustration it migth be damaged easily as the clear plastic is not very strong but the game itself is quite entertaining and very original. I like this kind of challenging toys that does not requiere batteries, are small enough to fit almost anywhere and very simple to explain. I recommend it for car trips.

I love puzzles. All kinds of puzzles, but ESPECIALLY tactile puzzles. I have over a dozen tavern puzzles (the big metal ones) but those are too noisy to have at my desk or to have out for guests- this however is perfect! I love that you can solve it again and again and each solution is different. I also like that it can be made easy enough for my 6 year old niece, and complicated enough for my 27 year old husband. Well worth the money

It broke within 5 mins. My son just threw it away.

Nice puzzle to have sitting around to pick up and work the mind.

This was not as good as the other reviewers claimed. It is very cheaply made, can be easily broken, it is very fragile, and it is not at all challenging.

Brain String Advanced is extremely fun, and addictive, to play. For that reason, I would have given it a five-star rating. My problem with it was that four days after we received in in the mail, one of the orange plastic pieces that you pull to move the string, snapped off. I was able to re-attach it, but it concerns me as we have had it less than a week. Another thing that concerns me are the strings themselves. The strings are essentially the elastic hair ties you can buy anywhere. Having used those elastic bands all my life, I know they can snap and stretch. Still, it entertains me when I have to wait around places.
